In between read the review of P200NS in march autocar issue.
Its got 9/10 (which is the best they give :P)
    Everything is positive-positive.
The negative they wrote are -
    1) TVS Eurogrip tyres do not do justice to the superb handling provided by the chasis. Its true but as antz.bin informed MRF Zappers would be carrying out the job on the production versions.
    2) The bike doesn't have self-cancelling indicators seens on previous gen pulsars. Now isn't self-calcelling indicators the normal indicators found on almost all bikes (like my stunner ). so how come its not present...

Goodies were alot to mention on the review. Probably everything. Engine, handling, refinement, build quality, switchgears, fuel filler-cap just everything is perfect on this PERFECT-MACHINE.

Great news!! thanks so much for this... I was hesitant to buy Autocar March coz I thought they would be testing Pulsar 200 NS next month... Im buying the issue for sure.... Yippeee great rating by them... tells a lot about the bike....

Overdrive has tested Duke in their March issue as well... that makes for an interesting buy too!!

    Happy Riding :-)

Now the negatives might be few but they are serious!! How can they ignore good tyres and a nice feature like self cancelling indicators!! slightly disappointed actually...

      • For all the debate that went on about FI and its presence in Pulsar 200 NS... heres a note put by Overdrive while testing Duke 200 which comes with FI on the same engine as you know:-

"In fact the only hesitation at all, is right at the bottom of the revs where you will usually feel a lag or jerk in response when start opening the throttle. This was an issue common to fuel injected motorcycles when FI systems were first being implemented on motorcycles. The biggest bikes today all use twin injectors or other complex solutions to smoothen this transition. Some of the bigger KTMs are also known to have this low rev snatchiness and unfortunately so does the KTM 200 Duke.
It isn't really a big deal for most situations, but it means you can't, for instance, make u-turns as smoothly as before. You need to keep the revs up so it doesn't stall. And at the racetrack, it make the delicate job of feeding power to the back wheel as you start the exit from a corner a bit harder, requiring an even gentler, dexterous touch."

I always used to feel only my bike RTR 160 FI had this issue.... Its very evident for all you FI fans to see the real world performance of a bike on FI from an Indian manufacturer and the general use of FI on our bikes!!!

Remember Duke it seems is an ultra short geared mobike, shorter geared than Pulsar and still this is the end result!!

I would want to again reinstate that Im very happy that Pulsar 200NS is without this non sense.... yipppeee

        Happy Riding :-)

        • Not so long ago when the CBR250 was about to release I saw the same enthusiasm among us. And it failed to live up to the expectations. Hope it wont repeat with p200. (I cancelled the r15v2 booking for p200 )
Love the ride, not the destination

That bike is costing 1.3 lakhs, It's going to have comparatively low sales figures.
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

              • Please keep the discussions regarding the p200 alive here because its a p200 thread.
OT:Anyways, a person going for the cbr150r should definitely go for the d200 (my personal opinion)

I dont know why do you say CBR 250 failed to live upto expectations...

Its after all the IBOTY 2012... It is arguably the best bike in the Indian market today... though it had quality issues.... but it has been sorted out in the 2012 version...

Pulsar 200 NS Im sure will be the best competitor for its tag though...

Its mainly an R15 competitor.. so an interesting battle between them...

though Pulsar 200 NS would be leading a segment of its own for sometime altleast...

Thats a good news going favor of 200NS.....i also felt the lag when i took a test drive of Duke. Now i only hope there are no issues with Triple spark thing that bajaj has incorporated.

people who prefer fairing, pillion comfort,fuel-efficiency,more top whack, honda badge will go for it.
i am afraid about 250's sales,150 has perimeter frame and sexy exhaust, lucrative colour options.

why? just because they fall in same price bracket.

the mentioned lag is hypothetical,it does not exist in duke.
although people in ownership thread is mentioning different type of lag.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
                        #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Exactly, With Big bro just 30K away and being much costlier than other competitors like R15, ZMR and P200, it hardly stands any chance.

Triple spark will not be a matter of concern in anyway.. If at all it can only improve things or maintain the same efficiency... It doesnt affect adversely... So that shouldnt be a concern...

One compaint that I have, Bajaj fans plz excuse me, is that Bajaj bikes are literally upgraded every 6 months!! On the positive side... it gives customers their very best every 6 months..... but at the same time the existing owners will be disappointed and would be kind off let down.. Im sure within 6 months of Pulsar 200 NS, there would be a Pulsar 200 FS and then another upgrade in 6 months... That means literally an NS user, buying today, would be feeling a little left behind in a year... Dont know whether its a good feeling though... Well, this was just my view... nothing to generalise...

                              Happy Riding :-)

Kind off confirmed as its touted to be some 10K more than R15 and some 10K lesser than Duke's price... so approximately 1.3 lacs...
