and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

c-abs of honda provides basic anti lock mechanism with a exclusive feature ,in which if you press rear break same amount of pressure gets apllied on the front brake, resulting in more stable braking with lesser stopping distance.

actually it is combined effect of brake, abs and traction of tyre, condition of tarmac.
Well said.. exactly..... with TVS tyres in place no matter what ABS you have in their the final result will be very ordinary...

So your explanation of the ABS on CBR and RTR are proof enough of half baked tech used by the Indian compaines on their products...

Both Bajaj and TVS have had a tie up with Delphi for the FI units... and they couldve easily had the FI variant with higher costs to continue for the interested and informed customers to buy it.... like say Stunner or Glamour for Honda...

But instead they chucked it coz there were multiple complaints on them.... My own bike (RTR Fi), the Delphi unit under the seat costing 4.5K was replaced saying it is faulty by the service center in 3 months of my purchase!!! and thank god it was under warranty.... The bike is 3 yrs old now but is disappointing in its engine performance and incosistent power delivery, huge wierd sound it makes through the exhaust!!

Off recent my bike just stops inbetween in the middle of the road and doesnt start!! I was advised by the TVS service center guys that I have to bang the left side of the tank of my bike (iso that it has an affect on the FI sensor inside the petrol tank) and shouldnt fill petrol from the right side of the fuel tank!! waahhhH!! Minimm 3 ltrs petrol no matter what... to keep my bike running normally..... Bull shitt tech!!!

Guys wl tell you frankly dont ever come to a conclusion that the Pulsar 200 NS runs on carb and hence its low tech!! Bajaj and TVS are not capable of having a good quality FI under their budget....

In an imaginary scenario like Pulsar 200 NS for 95K and Pulsar 200 NS FI - 100K/ 110K!! Im very sure the carb version would work very consistenly than the FI for a long time... let alone the pricing.... Therefore more satisfaction...

Please feel happy for Pulsar 200 NS with the right amount of tech to be under a lac!! Greatt job BAJAJ for keeping all the right things without any unwated gimmickry....

I firmly beleive Pulsar with lesser gimmickry than Duke will keep its customers equally or more satisfied in comparison at the end of the day in the overall sense....

          Happy Riding....

We can understand your pain @Pravin. But lets not generalize things as many people have nice experiences with their Bajaj/TVS bikes esp Bajaj. I agree that Bajaj/TVS have concentrated alot on cutting costs but for the P200NS they have covered everything except FI. And thanks to Bajaj for providing 3plug technology which gives nice results like FI. I guess after Bajaj has launched all the big bikes and established even more abroad they can look to perfect the small things missing. These probs seem to be more with the TVS bikes rather than Bajaj but since both are Indian companies so Bajaj too pays penalty for it. I remember my tuition master owning a TVS Victor had a bad fall becz his bike automatically got handle locked while turning the bike on a bend . He was lucky that his speed was not much otherwise it could have proved fatal .

I too felt that having fi would be a good option for P200NS but on the other hand you can see the benefits of Fi over carb are not much for a small engine and normal people not go for bikes when cross Rs. 1lakh unless they're proved like the R15. Bajaj might be developing their own Fi who knows... since the Delphi Fis were not that good. Lets hope for the best

although delphi was in collaboration with tvs and bajaj, they are not to be blamed,it's the faulty fi components supplied by delphi.
on the other hand fi unit of honda,pgm-fi is developed by honda, and it is less heard to be malfuntioned.
and the question remains why do i race?

              • A heart braking day for me, had called the bajaj dealer to enquire about the booking of the NS which had started two weeks back, I had gone today they said its 20,000. After a bit of discussion he came down to 10,000. On discussing more with the sales person I came to know the actual on-road cost would be around 1,10,000 . . I couldn't accept the price of the bike, One question which constantly kept hitting is "Is this price justified for the bike ??" considering the r15 and the CBR 150 yet to be launched . . I am ready to shell out upto 95k which was been told by few friends . . but anything above a lac was out of my savings/budget . . still not believing the guy i did not book the bike and have decided now to wait for the official release of price . . but now im in complete confusion which bike to go for if that price comes out to be true . .

The customer wasn't buying a Delphi bike. The customer cares a rat's @$$ what components the manufacturer puts. The only thing the customer cares about is that everything should work well. What Bajaj / TVS should ensure that none of the faulty Delphi components pass their QC and onto bikes.

If they cannot do it right, they should either fix it or drop it altogether.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

may be bajaj/tvs was in hurry as glamour fi was already launched,so they didn't test the fi unit properly,as they didn't want to miss the chance of introducing fi,which was considered to be advanced tech at that time.
going by current trend ,people are still not ready to shell out bucks for fi unless it is r15,zmr or cbr, ninja.

Pls dont give the example of Glamour. I coudnt believe that bike was PGM-Fi. The exahust note of the bike is a complete "YUK". I don't even see any new glamour these days. In comparision the Stunner PGM-Fi sounds awesome and the refinement in way better than Glamour. No comparison.

Bajaj is till growing and they have to prove the products they launch. But I feel the technologies implied and the superb design + big 200cc motor developed with KTM justifies its 1lac price. Anything above would be pricey ofcourse. But the R15 is good as its own product. The P200NS is good in its own might. The P200NS is the true Street fighter we have in India now. Also acceleration of P200NS is much more than R15. P200NS will find buyers at 1lac price no doubt about it.

pgm-fi doesn't have any special exhaust note.the rtr fi was different case.

same engine, stunner is more tuned for power.

p.s. as per you my area is glamorous[read commuterish].

Ya dats stupid . . A lakh for booking !!!! . . Here in Mumbai, this guy i felt was more to chitkao me the duke . . so for the same reason he quoted a price which would make me think to buy the duke since duke was available at 1.34L on road and he also said that delivery would be by may end or june for the NS and cancellation charges would be rs.2000 . . this is a big test of my patience . . have not waited ever for anything like this . . I think waiting for the official announcement from Bajaj is wiser.
