  • 200ns owners vs Rohan200ns

Funny how you owners dont find it funny how Rohan's cribbing about the NS.
Here's a hint from the famous adage, 'Your biggest critic (Rohan) is usually your (200ns) biggest fan.'

While I wouldnt exclaim Rohan to regret paying that extra 35k for the Duke, there's something I'd like to post as my first impression.
    Read on...

TD's were on Sundays only but I went there on a Tuesday or was it wednesday, well I dont remember. Bright sunny afternoon, clean dry roads and a happily go lucky me riding my gorgeous R15v2.0 LE to the front gate. My baby sure grabbed alotta eyeballs, both outside and inside. Keyurbhai, sales exec. walks out and waves.
'200ns, test ride. I want. Heehee,' I happily grin at him.
'Areh y dint u come on Sunday? I held up for u. Now the TD bike is gone on rounds to the tier III cities,' he replied.
'No. I want TD now. Now now now,' I crib.
He politely smiles and makes a call. Having known him over 6 months helped. Within 15 mins a black babe is brought to the front gate. Meanwhile I happily took the Duke for a spin.

Now the NS. Climber her saddle and felt her well between my lusty legs.
Turned the key and thumbed the ignition.
The Black Mamba, what I'd grinningly call the NS,came to life and how! Poured some super sweet music to my ears. The idle note was so not Bajaj. Was so-oh sexily refined. I opened my eyes to see if I was actually on a CBR. That refined.

The rest of it, later. Using phone. Fingers hurt.

      • FINALLY, the bajaj Flagship has arrived in the Least preferred metro city - Kolkata.
Yesterday gave me the opportunity to see the NS (my would be) for the first time. went with @ Toxicbiker. Though was only allowed to see and touch the bike, without firing the beast up. Here is My First impression:-

Pre-Script - Most of the points might have already been discussed millions of time in the NS threads.. So please bear

        1) The bike looked much much bigger than what the Photos portray. IMO, the size gives you a feel of a Quarter liter bike.
        2) Completely different from the monotonous look of the old-gen pulsars.
        3) Headlight, and the Broad Perimeter frame surely is the USP of the bike's look.
        4) When I sat on the Bike, the Hand's position kind of felt commuter-ish, because of the raised up handle-bars. However, the foot-pegs are placed in quite an Aggressive position.
        5) The tank gives a feeling of Big-Brother of Hunk, while sitting. Otherwise(i.e. while standing) the tank looks superb, and gives the NS it's big bike character.
        6) The instrument cluster looked very posh (seen it only in OFF position)
        7) Am 5'10", and had no problems with the foot placing.
        8) The seats are soft, and the front seat is huge. Can easily accommodate any Fat As*
        9) couldn't see the rear part as per my liking, since the bike was cornered to the wall.
        10) there are lots of Sticker jobs. Can prove to be both advantage, and disadvantage.
        11) There is a huge gap between the rear side pannel and the seat. That kind of gap must be Intentional, and only @Rahuldevnath, and @MG has found out it's correct purpose.

Lastly, a huge thanks to @toxicbiker, for showing keen interest in the NS, and accompanying me with his ultra-smooth Fazer.
Waiting eagerly for a Test-Ride, and then to finally book it.

Read the forums for r15, cbr250, cbr150, There is definitely something or the other that one has to complain about, But the things get sorted out. You make a small problem look very BIG and life threatening. Please drop this approach of yours .

You have purchased your DUKE after getting bashed from so many people.. are you ever going to stop cribbing about it??

Hey Guys.. Rohan had taken a test drive of the bike almost a month ago.. and he did post his review for which he was take for a ride by fellow xbhp members.. after which he bought DUKE... I have nothing against Rohan.. but the way he misguides people.. that is really bad..
P.S: Rohan.. if you really want to prove urself as an exp. guy, who has a lot of knowledge about P200NS.. stop cribbing about it.. and help people instead who face the issues... this is not a bikers spirit ROHAN.

P200NS is very good bike.. i would personally recommend you to go for it..
you have 23BHP with 40+ mileage in city, the best techonolgy in india atleast.. and it is better than any of the pulsars in the past.. you can go for it blind folded.. im also planning to buy it in couple of days... cheers../

                Guys Grow up ....
This forum is for both saying the good things and the bad things.
Shouting out loud is no great thing. If you love the bike, then go and buy it.
Pulsar engines do get hot. Just Dont say no to this. Its not possible to keep it cold. And we all know that.

What Rohan has said is not that bad.
@others : take your own test drive and then come to a point. Dont just go by looks. Obviously Duke is a far far better bike than P200NS. Thats why the price is almost 40k more than this. So decide on this.
And mind it people who think that the P200 and duke has the same engine, then you are wrong .

Come one guys take it lightly here. Dont fight. This is a forum for everyone. Dont expect every one to say what you like. Try to accept this.

Even i did not like the P220ns for a coupe of reasons. but thats my choice, and there is nothing bad in it I think.
I always feel that P220 is far better than P200 .

So keep up the riding rather than commenting and criticizing

@Rohan :: A new bike will always get more heated and will smell. Because of the engine paint and lot other stuffs.
all these decreases after the running in period or may be a couple of thousand kms ..
And the vibrations, it will be there for a new bike. All these will be taken care after the first servicing.
Some will go and some will stay. That will depend.

Thats a true 1st impression bro....and plz no thanks ok...bikers don't say thanks....
btw....one thing is very prominent that the ground clearance seemed too low for me for Kolkata..man these pothole...or should I say big fat potholes may cause danger to your babe while riding..ride safe and very methodically as the silencer pipe and cat-con directly hits the ground in case of such accident...they should have given a center stand...

                      nice bro..congrats for the beast....
one thing the best biking exp always depends on the persons choice and, if you are talking about a bull then you should know that it refers to a complete different league....we are talking about street bikes here not cruisers....or some long stroke torque filled engines...vibes in such cases are acceptable and delightful but in these type of bikes it may not persuade you to go more with the vibes...again just my personal opinion...

                      • I have recently purchased pulsar 200ns dated 17 july 2012 , i have already completed 2237kms, there certainly some kind of problem with the oil pressure indicator it keeps on glowing every now and then , i have checked the engine oil level ,its completely on the correct level what am i supposed to do in such a problem ? first service done at 747 km.i am facing this problem since i had done 200 kms .
                        2. another problem which i came across was ,when i am riding at a speed of 60 kms/hr (6th gear) and i tend to increase the speed slowly at the same gear , the engine gasps for breathing at a speed 72- 80km/hr and at the same time , rpm needle goes up and down ,it runs smoothly till 70km/hr then it start taking jerks as if no fuel is gong inside , ultimately i have to slow down . suggest me a solution . i'll be obliged to hear from you as soon as possible

Ur 1st problem is due to a faulty oil pressure sensor. Replace the sensor under warranty, and it's done.

For the 2nd problem, may b someone experienced can throw light. But I get it has some thing to do with the fuel-pump getting clogged. How many times have u tried it? Show it to the SVC guy by taking him on Pillion.

where do you fuel up...I faced this problem once in my previous bike...then ultimately found that I had fueled from a unknown location pump and after that my carb got dirty and had to open and clean the carb..then the prob was solved....but in your case am not sure...it might be the reason..

Hmmn, since you have already completed 2000kms, thus try this to check your fuel pump.
Rev you engine high for sometime in the Neutral position, and check if Gasping occurs.
Or else as @toxic biker suggested, the Carb might have got clogged, and may require cleaning.
There is also a Possibility that ur bike is running Lean on AFR, and thus gasping for fuel when it needs more. Check it if you know how to do it urself, or ask the SVC to check it.
