yes it will.Try to fuel it at known good petrol pumps when in city.
Coming to the review, I have two questions:
First Question: why did he not upshift to the 6th post 80kmph. I dont think doing bulk of riding on the highway on 4th and 5th was a great idea. Mileage would obviously have fallen. Any explainations to this?To be in the powerband?
And yes, how often do you have to really downshift to 4th to overtake?
Second Question: where did he get that beautiful saddle bag from?
Overall nice review.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Hi Aakash,
Maintenance of Duke 390 is very easy on pocket as compared to any other bike in the segment.
First service costed me Rs1200 (only oil change charge)
Second and third service( Rs.1500)
Considering service interval of 7500 km service cost is on par with bikes on less than half cc.
Heating is an issue only in immense traffic which is reduced in the latest iteration of 2015. Minor but useful modifications are done which makes is very user friendly.
Hope this helps.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
My dear friend. The alloys on which KTM runs are sports alloys which are super light. Don't compare them with the splendor or 200ns. Please. ThanksOriginally posted by 'nYsus' View PostThat is exactly why KTM should have acknowledged this issue ane done the needful. Now after one or two odd cases of wheels cracking, it is more a concern of life and death rather than motorcycling.
Until ktm comes clear on this with an explanation, everyone will be skeptical about their the 390.

Even R15V1 had the rim cracking issue in the initial batches (friend of mine who owns an R15 told me). Bajaj seems to have rectified the rim problem, as there have not been any recent cases where ktm rims have cracked. Another friend of mine, who owns a Duke 200 recently went through a bad pothole at high speed and his rim bent, which is a good thing IMO.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Hi,
I sold my Duke 200 almost a year back as I got a car. I would like to get a bike again. I'm confused between 200 and the 390. Price being a factor. I've seen a Duke 390 (1.5 yrs old and 10k kms run) and the price seems to be good. My running is about 70kms a day. Should I go back to Duke 200 (I'm sure I won't regret it. I have been regretting all these days for selling it though).
Any suggestion would be quite helpful.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
The Duke 390 is not the most ideal bike for stop and go Indian cities. If you travel within the city a lot then 390 is not really for you. But if you are contemplating it for good broad roads with moderate traffic then Duke 390 is the bike for you. It has heating issues in slow traffic conditions whereby your thighs would be fried with hot air coming from the engine.Originally posted by venkatesh_B View PostHi,

I use my 390 for daily commute of around 55 kms in city.Originally posted by Calcuttan View PostThe Duke 390 is not the most ideal bike for stop and go Indian cities. Yes, heat is there but not at the level where thighs get fried (unless riding on shorts).
200 may be apt bike for city. But 390 is not bad either.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
[QUOTE=Anshul Sajwan;1019219]Really awesome bike. Lots of power and torque in the rear. I managed to do a 170 Km/hr on this bike and guess what the bikes very stable (because of that rev limiter). It can handle more than that once you are through the limiter. Tyres are awesome, one can cut sharp corners and those level markings at the rear tyres are really helpful to guage your performance.
Below is the link for the 170km/hr that i recorded. Was just a normal road could have managed a 172 if the road permitted.. moreover i was able to sprint the bike under 100, 130 and 150 with really good stats.
with some weight reduction on bike + ( i weigh 80kgs),on budh circuit, lap after lap, the bike hits the rev limiter in 6th gear at 179 and kills the engine, till you drop the throttle. After 2 years of riding the bike, repairs and spares are pocket friendly as well. awesome bike!!
