Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
If you are yet to book the bike why don't you drive and get a feel for it. Then you can take a call with full information. Cancellation is an issue for those of us who booked it without any reviews/ test drives of the bikeOriginally posted by Ajay.vinod View PostSo the booking of D390 is 30k and 4k for cancellation?
Did anyone booked the bike in which they'll refund the entire money for cancellation. I would be booking the bike after 15th of Aug.
@ Hyderabad KTM guys, as some have already informed RTA approval is done. It is now only about dealers getting the bikes. I guess we need to take the delivery discussion out of this thread and keep it more on the technical/ ride feedback angle

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
More pics from Mbai.
The bike doesnt look too different from the white D200. There were about 6 Dukes in the showroom and my eyes were searchin for couple of secs even after I entered. The orange bits arent too bright like in pics and the black parts hide the orange wheels to an extent
From my sight-level, I couldnt really tell that there were too many wires peeping out
Had to go on my haunches to see it closely- the fat cable just under the tank with insulation is heat wrapped and cant be seen unless one searches for it.
The exhaust pipe dent is quite visible and a bit of an eyesore though! Though no deal-breaker, KTM being one of the leaders in streetfighters should have found a more aesthetic solution. See the 200's are for comparison
Wires on right side are more visible. Should be routed from inside the trellis
Wheelbase tho slightly longer doesnt look greater than 200's
And that's a lucky guy takin delivery of his N650-

Today I again called the Cochin showroom, they reduced booking charges from 30k to 25k as I said I don't have much money with me. Now next thing is I gotta somehow persuade them for full refund if I cancel it

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Just came back from the Chennai Mogappair showroom. The manager confirmed that deliveries would start by 1st week of September as they are exporting all the vehicles now to foreign countries and the only two vehicles delivered till now are from Pune where the showroom has delivered their display vehicles.

So its true ... just like some wise person speculated few pages ago ... its all due to exports getting priority thanks to the falling rupeeOriginally posted by Venkatesh Velmani View PostJust came back from the Chennai Mogappair showroom. Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
I have booked without the 4K clause and I believe I heard may others did too. But that's a prerogative of dealers on how fairly he wants to deal with their customers.Originally posted by GT007 View PostThis is the standard clause. 4k deduction n delivery in 90 days. And it seems bajaj is making full use of this clause.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
I see some people are not willing to book the bikes in initial lot [mostly first lot] and rather wait for 2nd or 3rd lot assuming that initial problems would be sorted out.
Now question is, if Bajaj is exporting all the initial lots to other countries, then technically we [in India] are not getting initial lots which would in turn mean that most of the problems in initial lots [starting, heat etc..] should be fixed.
Some one please clarify...
Just FYI - It seems that first lots are already received by UK dealers - The highly anticipated new KTM 390 Duke is now at Crescent - NewsLast edited by vidhya; 08-05-2013, 08:03 PM.
