Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
I dont know if i have the term right but it has to be with homogenization of all auto parts. Apparently Akra has not gone through the red tape heavy process hence it is not available here. This was told to me by the dealer.Originally posted by DukeDey View Post

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
They are having a defective battery in some of the test bikes and display bike and the starting problem is due to this defective battery alone???
that's what the guy told me when i was on the bike for a test drive today..
and now i am thinking i booked a wrong bike for the purpose of daily rides within the city coz only two gears are there what we can use in city traffics and they are the gear number 1st and 2nd..

For daily riding in city, Duke 200 is probably more suitable. So you can consider switching your booking from D390 to D200.

Also, as far as my limited knowledge goes, accessories need not be put through homologation, it's only for vehicles

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
I really wish that BAL/KTM simply release the whole catalog of their street 2012 edition of PowerParts..I know currently none of them are shown for 390 but being a global bike i guess it would have a similar range.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Do any one have an idea what bajaj is up to?
where is my KTM DUKE?
what was the waiting period when they launched their pulsar 200 NS?
when ever they launch a KTM bike the waiting period must be around 90 days. BUT they started the the delivery of duke 200 before the the waiting period last time coz they having their pulsar 200 NS ready to go on the road back to back with duke 200. BUT this time no confirmation of delivery dates of the bike coz they are not yet done with the designing of their upcoming pulsar what every one sure about with the same engine with few more sparks plugs with less power and more fuel efficiency with less price in a country where finance is a big problem to most of the people. This can also be a reason for delaying in the delivery of duke 390 coz they want us to buy their PULSAR 380-90 not ktm duke 390. And in the mean time when most of people who booked Duke 390 waiting for their bike to be delivered, we might see some spy pics of the upcoming pulsar floating on the internet what makes us to think again whether a pulsar or duke.Last edited by Ishan Sagar; 08-06-2013, 06:28 PM.KARIZMA 2004 - 2006 || Bajaj Pulsar 180 - 2005 - TILL NOW || Yamaha FZS 2009 - 2012 || KTM 390 DUKE 2013 - LifeTime

Friend if you think its useless then kindly ignore. This is the only platform how prospective duke 390 owners are in touch with each other. Pls dont force your views on others.Originally posted by Sarfarazkarim View PostI think this thread should be stopped till the first lot arrives, its useless asking abt the deliveries and other stuff.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
I guess u took it seriously.. Anyways if u look at past 10-15 comments or even more than that u will find people still waiting for the deliveries and sharing the same info again and again.
Why shouldn't we talk about the bike when it is delivered, at that time we will have some concrete views.
and i m not forcing my views I m talking 'rational'.
If u want to stay in touch then wait for ownership thread.
N i dont want to argue with u further.

Some are frustrated because of the endleas wait and others reading the same info over and over again.Originally posted by GT007 View PostFriend if you think its useless then kindly ignore. What everyone should understand here is that while we are waiting for our bikes to be delivered this is the only place where we can discuss about the bikes. Not just the bike, when one gets a bike he or she might plan to get a lot of things for his ride, we can discuss. The people who might be interested in taking other's opinion and their experience post their questions here.
Likewise a lot of things. There is no end to discussions and that is the prime reason an open community such as xbhp exists.
Lets keep the frustration under check and let this thread make the tough waiting a little less gruesome.
Peace out fellows, cheers!

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
If that the reason then y did the earlier thread was locked?
And "when one gets a bike he or she might plan to get a lot of things for his ride, we can discuss. The people who might be interested in taking other's opinion and their experience post their questions here"
for this there is an ownership thread where u can discuss on endless topics. But before that the bike should be delivered after that people can discuss on endless topics.

My point is in this thread there no topic left to discuss like i said before if u look the past 15-20 comments only same thing is repeated.
Its my suggestion and its upon the moderator to decide what to do.

PEACE!! CHEERS

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
He might actually be right. Exhausts aren't exactly accessories. They have to comply with noise/emission norms, which is a big part of the homologation process on complete vehicles. Of course this whole homologation tantrum wouldn't apply to hand guards, windshields and so on.Originally posted by DeVille View PostHomologation

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Actually this is exactly what the manager at the dealership told me. Bottom line is that it is going to be difficult to source Akrapovic because they sell only through KTM dealerships for all Duke exhaustsOriginally posted by dishayu View PostHe might actually be right. Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Can't we source it from a ktm dealer in Malaysia or any other country where the bike is available? This way we might even save some precious greens. A bulk order can be arranged from xbhp if a lot of members are interested. I for one, really want one.Originally posted by hsub View PostActually this is exactly what the manager at the dealership told me. Is the slip on for the 390 the same as the one for 200? If we install it would the warranty still be intact?
