I am waiting for the bike since its announced and waiting for getting my hands over it.Originally posted by Rohit.nagamalla View PostI am also from hyd, i booked my bike at banajara hills ktm, booking no is 1. Yes this is one of the reasons for delays in deliveries in hyd but the main reason is that they are sending the first lot of bikes to the cities with higher booking nos like Pune, Bangalore and kerela. There hare hardly 50 bookings in hyd. If your booking number is less then 15 u may expect the bike in 3rd week.
And one more internal news which i hav is that the price for the bike after September will be 30k extra. I was at the showroom an hour bak.
Sent from my GT-I9100G using xBhp Connect mobile appOriginally posted by naniid View PostI probably am 2nd or 3rd to book in KTM Banjarahills. AFAIK delay in delivery has nothing to do with pending approval from RTA (though it is true that it *is* pending approval). Getting approval for 390 would be a piece of cake for CEO of Varun motors (who owns B.hills ktm by the way). Had Hyderabad gotten it's first lot, we'd have known about it.Originally posted by Rohit.nagamalla View PostNo, hyd ktm has not yet placed their orders still... they will be doing it today evening. Tats the reason i went today. And rto approval is happening slowly bcoz of govt not related to anything else. AP govt is very slow.
And problem is that without rto approval letter they cant placed the order. They had a meeting with varun motors ceo today at 1pm in kondapur. I guess they will decide on the order and some other issues.

Coming to the delay, None of the cities except Pune has got the deliveries. And its obvious why Pune got its first deliveries.
As per KTM Begumpet, deliveries in Hyderabad are expected to be end of this month and possible chance of early.
2. > Banjara Hills KTM has said that they can handover the bike the same/next day after it arrives as there is nothing else pending other than the bikes being dispatched from the factrory.
3. > Bajaj has not delivered/dispatched any bikes to 'preferred' cities be it pune or chennai. The only bikes that have been delivered are the ones that have had an 'adjustment/understanding' with the showroom. Read below:
The point here is that Bajaj had sent 1 bike per showroom so that they can get the RTO approval for selling the new model before deliveries start as RTO will not give approval without the physical bike being present. Now that almost all cities/regions have got RTO approval, the bikes can be 'sold' by the dealer if they wish so. Infact the reason that many showrooms are either denying test rides or only allowing rides within a confined space is because these are not 'Test Bikes', the showroom will have to sell these bikes and they are already gathering miles thanks to bajaj not sending out the test bikes to all showrooms becuase Bajaj would rather deliver the very few that are manufactured than use them as Test. Some showrooms like in this case 'Pune' have decided to sell that 1 or 2 piece they got for registration etc before more miles are put on it.
The reason the bikes are being delayed are very clear from what I understand. Bajaj doesn't own KTM. It only has a 47% stake to KTM, hence KTM meeting it's commitments to it's international customerstake priority over Bajaj's local commitments. Almost all bikes being manufactured now are being exported to meet those commitments due to the extremely slow pace of production thanks to the Illegal strike by workers. Bajaj will deliver them by 90days by somehow assigning part or the manufactured bikes for local commitments else they will be in legal soup. If the strike is called of and the workers get back to making the bikes, we will get them in no time.
I booked it on the same day as the release, 1 day before the 'official' bookings open. I understand the frustration that most folks have waiting for this. I try really hard and spend my day trying to read reviews, ride the heck out of my bike like it is the 390 already
and ofcourse, patiently waiting and praying.
I think it is commendable that Bajaj has had the grit and resolve to take majority of pulsar production away from chakan so that it can meet the commitments for manufacturing the KTM, Ninja and Avenger which are only made in Chakan. And I am glad bajaj is not willing to hire back those fools in the production line that were fired for 'sabotaging' the bikes which is one of the demands of the union doing the Illegal strike. I understand that Bajaj has it's hands full dealing with all the problems it has at the factories right now and trying to meet the numbers as much as possible that it might not be able to issue a statement to the public to make aware of the situation. I believe that such a statement will come only if Bajaj feels it will not be able to meet the 90 day commitment. They have already said they will meet that as of now.
My humble request to all here is not listen to the mumbo jumbo cooked up the showrooms as they themselves are running out of excuses to tell customers when they enquire about the delay and it is only natural for them to keep making up stories to calm them down and not give the same old information which will frustrate the customer.Last edited by Cyrus_the_virus; 08-04-2013, 04:19 PM.

Exactly.creating a new dedicated thread is easy.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostHe's kinda busy with the ride i suppose..
Btw a seperate thread where the actual owners could provide the datails would have been highly helpful, than posting in this thread where it will be lost in all the discussion..
ajay, u get test drives easy.booking amount is 30000 if I remember.on road will come to 2.1 something.๔ยкє ҭђгєє ภเภєҭұ เภ ๓ұ שєเภร

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
MG : thankyou for the review.
1 clarification please:
"Same day I had the company of Ninja 300 and we had a longish ride of 300kms during the second half of the day. That ride made me realize how quick the Duke is in comparison to the Ninja 300. Maybe I was expecting a bit too much from a 390cc motor, more so since I had ridden a 690 Duke in the past and know how mad that bike is."
Can you please elaborate/clarify , its not clear how the D390 compares to the N300.

A small correction: Bajaj holds 47% in KTM not 49%.Originally posted by Cyrus_the_virus View Post1. > ......

They said expected delivery is end of this month or early to that. RTO approval is already there for the bike. Only the delivery is pending and they can be delivered as soon as first lot arrives.
