      Here's my ride report.. ctrl+c & ctrl+v of what I wrote on FB .. sums up the whole experience

      /** Start Ride Report **/

      Ignition ON ;
      Mild Throttle Input ;
      Finds open stretch of road ;
      Starts screaming Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkk woooooohoooooo... inside helmet ;
      Continues doing the above for next 5 minutes ;
      Ear to Ear smile for next 2 hours ;

      /** End Ride Report **/

      Since I've been riding a D200 since about last week and have done about 1.5K kms on it. Here's things that felt immediately different :-

      1. More Heat
      2. More forgiving suspension
      3. Seemingly more comfortable ergos. On the D200 after riding about 300-400 kms my ankles start to hurt due to the weird position.

      The clutch was not set correctly on the 390 so can't compare with the 200 right now.

      About the acceleration all I can say is, guys treat the throttle with respect.

      Finally we have something after 20+ years that can stand up to the RD350 !!! Every shift of the gear made me feel as if my wrists would pop out.

      When I rode back home on the D200, it felt slow and sluggish

        What is really starting to worry me now is that while in countries where strict licensing norms are followed and underage kids can't fly on the streets, this bike itself has been detuned to match the A2 so that new/young riders don't get themselves into trouble. In India where even a 6 yr old flies on splendours at close to 100K and no categorization like A2, A1 etc and a free for all and a fully tuned bike, I see multiple disasters waiting to happen.

        There will a lot of negativity about this bike being involved in several accidents with new/inexperienced riders or even experienced ones for that matter unable to handle the fully tuned bike. If this bike had to be de-tuned for international markets (normally the case is opposite for bikes hitting our shores from outside) to meet safety and license standards, then I can only wish that de-tuned bikes are sold in India to under 21s or any new license holder but I guess there is no system in India to even start to apply this!

        PS: I respect every new rider who is trying their best to learn and be good on the road, but there will always be over-enthusiastic morons giving us bikers a bad name.

          I'm just curious. Have there been many reports of Duke 200 accidents that you guys have heard of? Except for the random slide incident, I'm yet to hear of major Duke 200 crashes.

              I don't know of any major ones but once when I was heading for lunch I saw a payjama claded hooligan showing off on Duke 200 without helmet by riding zig-zag on a busy street next to kanjur station west who suddenly touched down with a loud thud and the next thing I saw was his payjama was torn and had turned red due to blood and a huge crowd had gathered around him ... I could just feel pity for him and moved ahead !

                Strangely, I've seen only one Duke 200 being ridden rashly in all these days since its launch. Please note that I'm talking about reckless driving, and not about going slow. Most 200s are driven carefully by their owners, in Bombay atleast. I'd seen the same trend for the 200NS as well, though I can't say the same about the rest of the Pulsar models. The first time I'd ridden the Duke 200, it was like we were all back in the two stroke era again. So I was concerned about how such a potent machine might be misused. Thankfully, I'm glad to be proven wrong on this front.

                Hopefully, the 390 will also get the same sort of respect from its owners. It'll be sad to see the first machine that really excites bikers post the RD 350 to get a bad rep. Come to think of it, even though the RD had the rep of being a widow-maker, it was still not as dangerous as many portrayed it to be...

                  Yes. Appreciate your concern.
                  Adding to your thought-
                  First, we may have to get our motorcycle with and without gear category testing right regardless of power. Also applies to LMV license. I see several old riders, riding erratically and drivers driving without regard to others - some with lack of basic skills. Many with money think four wheeler is safe for a novice as he/she can't hurt themselves on a car but hurting others (like hitting a rider) is OK.
                  Different category license may apply for sophisticated places, but on the other side, lesser the "License Raj" more better we were/are/will be.

                    Ultimately as in all aspects of civic life it boils down to personal responsibility and integrity ... No matter how many regulating/licensing authorities we erect it will be impossible to control these hooligans ... Value education is the only way out !

                        Even KTM Begumpet said that deliveries will be at end of this month. But they said earlier that it will be July 2nd week, then July end, then August first week and now end of this month.
                        Done Riaz. Sent a request. Thank you. Lets keep the group updated. I am not sure why I am not able to go to next line (I mean enter key is not working while replying, but my enter key is working properly). I am forced to type everything in one line. Is this is a known issue or is there a way to hit enter and go to next line. I am not sure how everyone else is able to that.
