Guess I will get my keys from Rajinikanth ;-). Happy that they at least delivered the first 5 keys, so I am in a hope that mine will reach me soon. The Q&A session was just crap, nothing useful. By the way, SRK seems to be a nice guy.

is SRK seriously associated with KTM BAJAJ , couldnt they just get Rok Bagaros to do sum insane stunts for their commercials or something , prospective customers would like him more than Shahrukh Khan doing his monotonously lame charade for them..

I don't understand how the first five customers from Pune didn't feature people who got the bike already. Anyway nice to see SRK pose with the 390. He claimed that he will be able to dismantle and reassemble a Duke on stage within a year.
        Don't forget this

Update from Chennai Adyar KTM - the first dispatch should arrive/leave(not sure which) after the 20th. My booking number did improve as a lot of people switched to the Duke200 or cancelled their orders. Will call then again next weekend.
I did spend time buying some new gear in anticipation. Better then getting frustrated over Arsene Wengers decision making (and the waiting period for my Duke390 of course)

As mentioned already before here, those bikes were only an adjustment with the dealers who sold the display bikes, those were not official deliveries.

Guys took a long and highway test ride ,a thirty mints one. What to say and how to explain. It's simply awesome. Reached 145kmph with ease and in no time and there is no problem with the engine its like cruising.100kmph in sixth is simple like 40-50 kmph it's so smooth and so relaxed. today understand the importance of ABS, it's working absolutely fine and if you switch off it you can't simply resist or control your front wheel to pop a wheelie every time you release the clutch and also the wheel get locked when applying break. So guys please don't switch off the ABS please not in any condition. Otherwise tyre grip is awesome rode fully in a drizzling condition the bike is very much stable. At 145kmph there is no jerkyness it's so stable and ask you to rev more. One main thing, if the ktm design this 390 engine just like d200 like some guys expecting the initial is lower, then there will be a lot of the riders in hospital beds. So guys they have designed the engine with utmost care for their customers.

and who you might be? The KTM's financial Adviser?

sell few at higher price and get the profit and sell many at lower price to have the same profit even more then selling ur product for a higher price same thing. plus a good TRP for the product in the market for selling ur mind blowing product for a lesser price in comparison to other brands.. they don't have to increase the price of their product coz its already been a mouth shutting product for other brands who having bikes in the same category. So i don't feel like Bajaj/KTM is looking forward to have a hike in the price of KTM 390 duke this soon.

                    Fresh News:

KTM 390 domestic delivery from September end: Bajaj Auto

“KTM 390 Duke bike domestic delivery will begin from the last week of September,” Amit Nandi, Vice President (Probiking), Bajaj Auto said here.

Nandi said all the KTM 390 bikes produced so far have been shipped to KTM headquarters in Austria, from where they will go to the dealers.

Asked whether Bajaj Auto is mulling any hike in the KTM 390 price, Nandi said it was not in the offing as of now.
WTF?? what about my booking which will cross the so called 90day promise?

Anyway, nobody asked Rajiv Bajaj about the P 3xx :/
True!! I was like, what is wrong with you morons!! we have been nail biting to know about the status of deliveries and you get one chance to clear that Rajiv Bajaj himself and you ask ridiculous questions like will you dance with hollywood heroines? will you do silver screen promoting bajaj? I meant WTF?

it's clearly be seen they brought us an event just to hold our booking with them for another month As KING KHAN loves a KTM BIKE more as a BIKER then a BRAND AMBASSADOR.. EVERY one knows that S kHAN is not brand ambassdor to batane ki jarurat kya thi?

Yes, that's correct- a 25k slash till next Sunday as special offer. I clarified if it was 5k off or just 5k as booking amount and she said it's the latter.

They are urging more bookings while deliveries seem to be nowhere in sight. Strangely, inquired about the 200 as I wanted to know if the strike has impacted there too- the booking for 200 is still 20k and delivery in "approx 12 working days". Er…

what at my place booking amount is already 20,000(on which i booked my bike for) and when they launched the bike here they said booking is only for 10,000 with a free orange KTM dust cover with the bike only if you book ur bike today. and they got a very good response to their KTM duke 200 only in metro cities my place figure reaches just to few and i am talking about whole state of mine you can see a Honda CBR 250 here very often but a KTM duke very rarely on ROADS.

seems like it will take some more time for the bikes to arrive .

so it is clear now which strategy KTM/BAJAJ followed.
the biking season in europe and the west is now, it's summer there. in september autumn starts and nobody is going to buy a new bike. i can understand that they first wanted to cover as much of the western market in 2013 they could, and then will start delivering here, even if this makes the wait very long for us....
from a business point of view it is understandable, also keeping in mind that their profit per bike is much higher over there since the bike is retailing for nearly the double amount then here in india. their margin must be much bigger.

and finally we got a date also, which makes it easier to wait i feel.
and maybe the people who booked first are lucky and are getting and early delivery.am not sure how they are otherwise going to deal with the 90 days waiting period clause sicne the might not want to loose bookings.
