Take a Chillax 1000mg pill (or 2 or 3) and chill out.

Guys, the bikes can't arrive before KTM/Bajaj send them to dealers.
Dealers have nothing to do with it and are helpless. Once the bikes start being shipped out to dealers then you can nag them.

KTM is probably sending all the bikes to other markets, strike or no strike, doesn't matter.
Considering the price difference of Duke in India and in other countries that's understandable.

Just be happy we're getting this bike for such incredibly low price.
That should make up more then enough for longer than anticipated wait...

vidhya...Thx for the link. In my case, after i get my bike i have around 60kms ride back home. I dnt think i can use the 5th and 6th gear at all till i reach home. So i'm planning to combine some normal riding with occasional bursts, for about 15 to 20secs and lot of engine breaking. After that ride every evening for about 25kms doing the same thing and change the oil and filter at around 400 or 500kms. After that i'm planning to ride normally with occasional high revs and do the first service at 1000kms. Since the first ride out of showroom is important, should i start revving it hard few times as soon as i go out of the showroom or should i wait for 10 or 15 kms?

So many suggestions on run in

Of all my experience with my bikes, the simplest and easiest method is

1. For first 100-150kms vary the rpm all till the red line. Never keep it constant.

2. Change the oil after 150kms clearing out all the metal debris. Use mineral oil for first 2000kms.

3. No sudden acceleration or heavy engine braking.

Not just the engine, even tires, brakes need run in. Don't be hard on brakes or put heavy load on tires or corner them at high speeds. This all can be done after 500kms like that.

I had the same question in my mind and

- I'm going to take it easy for the first 4 or 5 kms just to warm the engine up [apart from idling it 4 or 5 minutes before starting to ride] nicely and to get out of the traffic. After that I'm going to stick to my plan and rev it hard up to 8k rpms and so on...

Cool...anyways thanks to everyone here for shedding light on this ever so complicated engine break-in method. I was never happy with my P220 power delivery after i babied her for 2000 to 2500kms. Although she was ever so faithful, gonna miss her.... but a new ERA is begining...

The manual is fine actually, they are like guidelines not something cast in stone and run-in methods are all over the internet which leads to people getting confused on what to follow. I think if we summarize all of them what they essentially say is-

Don't ride too hard or too soft during initial run-in and try to use as many gears as possible. And the only change I see is that changing the oil in the initial 500kms might be good instead of the stated 1000kms. This is what I have usually followed till now.

After all these talks about engine break-in, i was just dreaming about taking the delivery of my D390 from the showroom and i just realized my first test ride of D390 would be the day when i take the delivery. After 2 years of riding a 21bhp bike how will this feel??? Grinning from ear to ear....

People please help me with this. Planning to break-in between the regular and the Motoman way as discussed by a lot of people here. Planning to take off from office on the day of delivery and pick the bike with the factory filled engine oil (whatever brand or grade it has), ride it for some 50-80 km on some highways and mountain roads nearby the showroom and change to mineral oil with filter change in the showroom itself, then next mineral oil and filter change at some 300 kms, and then mineral oil change at the company's first service at 1000 km. Finally will move to fully synthetic at 2500 km.
My query is regarding the oil grade and brand. My bet is on Motul, but please suggest if anything better, but not too costly. Want to move to Motul 300v factory line fully synthetic at 2.5k km.
Need your suggestion on the grade and brand while break-in oil changes at 80 km, 300 km, and 1000 km. And the suggestion on oil grade and brand on fully synthetic change at 2500 km. Your help is most appreciated as I am planning on buying these stuff before I get the bike so it would be easy at that time and also I do not have anything else to concentrate and kill boredom until I get the bike.

Finally, Officially the first 5 customers of Pune get their bike deliverd by Sharukh and Rajiv

At the event, Rajiv Bajaj rightly put it, "Sharukh is not KTM/Bajaj Ambassador. I am the Brand Ambassador of Bajaj" Booom!!!
