Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Bro, take a chill pill.. He wasn't ranting.. maybe you read it at the wrong time. Chill bro.Originally posted by Mik@arunonline47 This is a forum for petrolheads who love riding and discussing bikes beyond its top speed and just its cc. Hence, as long as people are sticking to the topic and discussing something with respect to the KTM 390 it should be fine. A comparison of the bike with its baby brother (a lookalike at that) - specially the difference in character- is obviously going to happen. If you don't like the discussion going on, don't participate in it. Ranting is unwarranted.Last edited by Cyrus_the_virus; 08-30-2013, 02:39 PM.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Guys, had a chance to speak to the KTM zonal manager today. We will have our bikes in hand by Sept 15, worst case Sept 20. This is what he promised, although the agreement itself ends by Sep 25th, and for me its 3 days earlier. Speaking to him gave me somewhat of a relief, just by knowing that I do not have to expect the bike any sooner than the mentioned date. Just thought of sharing with you guys. Thanks.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Hi JayD, I have been following so hard with the KTM guys here since some 6 months, which fortunately turned the store manager, sales exe, and service engineer some good friends of mine. They became so jovial and feel really bad for not delivering the bike on time. Also as a result of my emails to KTM, I got the zonal manager in contact and I had called him 3 times since the launch regarding delivery. He was quoting Aug end before and now promises a delivery by sep 15th, worst case 20th. His tone seemed promising and I guess this should be true this time, but as mentioned by you, it they delay it further, we have no one to question. Badly needing the bike now.Originally posted by JayD View PostLast edited by surencameo; 08-31-2013, 01:42 PM.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Did you get your bike? I heard from BTM KTM that they would have some first delivery event or something like that.Originally posted by Abhiman View PostMine is the first booking in btm. Did it with santhosh(previous manager) as soon as he opened the showroom on 26th. Was waiting outside for him to arrive ..LOL.
Did the payment yesterday.
I did not pay the road tax though as I plan to get it done in Udupi. Costed 700 for temporary registration.
I am requesting for the bike ASAP but they seem to have a lengthy process to follow before they can deliver. Hence taking time till weekend is what Mohammed(current manager) said.
I asked him about other showrooms, whether they have received bike and if so how many, but he claimed that he didn't know.

Also, please let me know how many bikes were delivered on the day that you took your delivery. Thanks !!

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Ohk now this is getting really confusing. Test rode the bike and absolutely loved it, can be termed a mad bike. Would have booked it straight away but have a few confusions.
I previously had the N250r which I sold of bout a year back, honestly got bored of the power and wanted an upgrade. Regret my decision till today for parting away with the bike, but ever since this bike has been launched its been an interesting prospect. But again, does it qualify as an upgrade or do I just plan something bigger.
My use would be occasional last night/early morning speed bursts, I'm not into touring and neither would be using a bike for daily commuting. Does it solve the purpose? Or would I end up getting bored and regret my decision? The power is usable, price pretty tempting but would it give the same feeling on content that a litre class bike would give ( though it has all the unused power and blah). Also I'm 5ft 11, felt the bike looked kind of small under me, which was a bit of a turn off when I pictured myself, but again ripping the bike wiped off all the negative feelings in a few micro seconds !
Yes confused I am, Any help/ suggestions/ advice?
Apologise for flooding this thread and piling on with my indecisiveness, thank you nonetheless xbhp for providing me a platform where I can atleast share my thoughts with fellow bikers
Cheers

RahulAk, If you got bored of N250 in a year then I think only an SBK will satisfy you. There is a lot of power in D390 but its definitely not in the class of SBK. If you are looking at liter class and don't ride regularly then why not go for N650?
