Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
They said in the the comments that the Ninja had jump started. They have another video yet to put up showing the drag race but apparently they put up the video just to show the 0-100 acceleration. They shouldnt have put up the video, it completely gives the wrong idea.Originally posted by genxt View Post

I'm purchasing from karnataka and registering it in kerala, since i live in the border. kerala is cheaper, dunno how much exactly, but technically i stay in kerala, hence registering it here. Nearest showroom is in karnataka.Originally posted by shane#1 View PostAny specific reason for not purchasing without registration?

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
I saw that comment. The jump start was just marginal though. Another reason I could think of was that D390 shift was slow, it hit rev limiter twice and bounced back and forth for quite some fraction of seconds. What's your take on that?Originally posted by Cyrus_the_virus View PostThey said in the the comments that the Ninja had jump started. On another note, I rode a Ninja 250 today. I wasn't quite impressed by the performance. The handling was good though. I just can't allow the Ninja 300 to be faster to 100 than D390, after all the hype surrounding D390.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Drag races don't prove much since a lot is dependent on individual rider start off technique, weight, bike condition, etc and small differences can amplify in a short period of time. To check these kinds of timings both the bikes have to be ridden by the same person on the same tarmac and in the same weather conditions.Originally posted by genxt View PostCan't he just shift before hitting the rev limiter?? The difference is so marginal. 0-100 kmph stats of both bikes say otherwise.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
I thought the readings from drag races are taken from best of 3 races with each rider using the other bike. As per the video the results seem to be pretty close.
PS: Is it just me, it looks like bikes were very slow at end of the race :P2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
2008 - Yamaha YZF R15
2009 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
2013 - KTM 390 Duke
2017 - Yamaha FZ25

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
These Motorbean riders are ridiculous! What a joke. I would just shrug my shoulders off if it was some guy from a street riding a D390 like this, but if they are posting a drag video then you better ride a bike well.Originally posted by Ishan Sagar View Post
You can even see from a N300 camera how D390 moves ahead and then slows down because that D390 guy thinks staying at a rev limiter for some time is faster than shifting a gear...

Even I too find these folks amateurish. who the hell counts for a drag race? How are you going to even be able to hear it over the revving engine and through the helmet? Also, the guy on the duke is totally overweight and apparently has a heavy arm and a lazy leg! if you know what I meanOriginally posted by splus View PostThese Motorbean riders are ridiculous! Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
MotorJoke! They don't even know the difference between power wheelie and clutch wheelie...Originally posted by vidhya View PostMotorbeam video review of KTM 390 - Is that really a power wheelie at 2:36?
KTM Duke 390 India Review - YouTube
But it's interesting to see the top speed run - the bike goes like crazy up to 140 kmh, starts slowing down right after 140 kmh, takes it little slower to 150 kmh, and then really slow to 160 kmh...Last edited by splus; 08-27-2013, 10:25 PM.

Just flick the switch and twist my wrist
The beast comes alive, bringing me back to life
A tap to shift and flick of the wrist
The beast takes flight bringing me back to life
Kill the silence, tear apart the dark
The beast rips the road, hell yeah, i feel alive.
