The 5000 booking amount is to counter the effects of cancelled bookings I guess.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
I don't think front wheel tending to pop up has anything to do with ABS turned ON or OFF.Originally posted by kkamaleshh View Post...today understand the importance of ABS, it's working absolutely fine and if you switch off it you can't simply resist or control your front wheel to pop a wheelie every time you release the clutch and also the wheel get locked when applying break. So guys please don't switch off the ABS please not in any condition....

I had heard in some of the earlier news during Duke 390 launch that all the bikes produced in Chakan will be sent to Austria for Quality Check. So does that apply for bikes going to be sold in India too? And if that's true, then this news
may not mean that those bikes are all going to be sold abroad. They will include bikes to be sold in India too.Nandi said all the KTM 390 bikes produced so far have been shipped to KTM headquarters in Austria, from where they will go to the dealers.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Most probably the bikes made for india won't go through the stringent quality check at the ktm plant in Austria else the logistics expense would be very high(india-austria-india) and then Bajaj can no way offer the bikes at such competitive pricing here.Originally posted by genxt View PostI don't think front wheel tending to pop up has anything to do with ABS turned ON or OFF.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
"Delivery in September end" - WTF and this is just ridiculous. This will cross my 90-day booking period clause. I booked it on June 22nd with a booking amount of half the bike's on-road price. When nothing earlier could be done by the dealer, I am wondering why they were in such a hurry to get the bookings and why such high booking amount when they are going to deliver the product by the 90th day. Any new buyer who books now with Rs. 5000 also will get the bike on the same day as mine or just 1 or 2 weeks later. This is totally frustrating and I am starting to feel that I am cheated. How many sacrifices for this machine, but still I am not able to get it with me on the time expected. I now cant question the dealer as I have signed the agreement with the 90-day clause. OMG, this wait is just so irritating.
Sorry people, just wanted to pour out my frustration. Never mind, anyway we have to wait for it. No other go. Its just bugging.

I hope that guy smoked weeds before making this announcement or it is fake news. Some one please quote me some other news stating that it will be delivered by this month end...Originally posted by dr.mayanksingh View PostKTM 390 domestic delivery from September end: Bajaj Auto - The Economic Times
seems like it will take some more time for the bikes to arrive .

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
I did think about the expense part, but is it possible a big company like KTM will sell a portion of their bikes without QC and that too to the biggest market for them?Originally posted by DukeDey View PostMost probably the bikes made for india won't go through the stringent quality check at the ktm plant in Austria else the logistics expense would be very high(india-austria-india) and then Bajaj can no way offer the bikes at such competitive pricing here.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Yeah its sad that they will only start delivieries from Sept end. If they dont deliver in the agreed 3 Months, I will cancel my booking for sure..however, Royal Enfield asks for 10 months waiting period, it is no better.Originally posted by chickyheart View Postwhat the hell is going on here, then why bajaj takes the booking or they shouldn't have launched it so earlier if they are going to deliver the bike after 4-6
