Any owners of duke here? I want to know the service periods of the bike which have been referred in the owners manual.

Really, should be a treat to drive on those high passes but there is hardly any space/means for strapping luggage on this bike and the rear seat is useless. Should be alright if all you have is a backpack.

For D390, they said it's 1000k and every 5000k after that.

Any one has any information about recommended engine oil and it's viscosity rating for D390?

Dealer told that it would come with Bajaj DTSI oil which I assume is semi synthetic. I intend to change it to Motul 3000 4T mineral oil [15w50] as soon as I get it out of the showroom. [Reason - Synthetic oils does not allow for proper engine break-in and piston ring sealing.]

Any one else planning to do same?

Bajaj DTSi oil for D390???? Crap!! People don't use it for D200. I don't even use it for my P220! Here, customers have the option of opting for Motul Fully Synthetic oil which is available at dealers.

I doubt that info given to you by the dealer. Someone posted in duke 200 thread that they come with motul 7100 from the factory, so do ninjas. If this is true then no way the duke 390 would come with dtsi 10000.
And guys worried about breaking in their engine without glazing the cylinder walls, do not worry too much. The 390 comes with a nikasil coated cylinder which is supposed to be very durable.

OOPS! We ran out of fuel. The page you’re looking for is beyond our reach. Let’s get you back on track!

If that is what the showroom guy says, think twice before giving the bike for servicing there.

No need to rush for Motul etc, let the run be done with stock recommended oil or at least first 1000 kms. Change the oil initial after 100-150 kms which will take out any debris that comes out because of the friction.

Then happily you can go for fully synthetic directly.
