Its marketing, its the way it works. The probable target customer is a college fresher who cannot pay for the 220, perhaps creating a connect between the two bikes using the same tagline will increase the desire factor for tthe 135 and hence sales. Rememeber, all it matters in the end for the companies is the number of units sold. No one is in the business to see what 'feels' right from the heart or the brain, but a middle line somewhere, so letes quit whining and leave it alone if you dont like it. -

Guys just check this out , after seeing this i thought man , how well the bajaj dealers are given knowledge about their technology. I'm personally a fan of Pulsar but today there was a publicity van for P135 LS near my residence . i Just went and asked for a test drive and shockingly found this banner , i was like WTF man , if Having a 4valve 14ps power makes P135 LS "THE FASTEST INDIAN" , what is P220 ?
. I enquired why they had put it, the answer from the so called techie from them was , " Sir 4 valve technology , so its the fastest indian bike"

Correction !
I read Overdrive and Bike India mags, found that max. torque is indeed developed at 7500 rpm and not 6500rpm (as I believed).

Yes, the P135 can indeed do slow speeds in top gear.. but then to really enjoy the 4 valves one needs to go over around 5000 rpm, a good stretch along with a few twisties thrown in.
But its true that in real life.. most of us are mostly confined within traffic infested roads.

I agree with you here.. on a contrary I will tell you what advantage it has in city, this bike can do very low speeds in top gear without knocking.. I really liked it & I am sure it can do wonders beyond 5k rpm with the help of 4 valves..Originally posted by payeng View Post

From the power band perspective, the P135LS is similar in character to the R15, the Ninja 250R and International sporty bikes.
The "LS" makes it quite clear, the P135 is a "Light" bike with a true "Sporty" character. Ahem.. 4 Valves/Cylinder
Probably the P135LS misses a "Full Fairing" to drive home the perspective that its a "Sporty" bike.

I believe it is not good to compare a Bullet with P135 here.. Bullets are not meant to cut through traffic they are made for different segment altogether which is to lazily cruise all day long without a sweat at speeds of 80, 90kmph..Originally posted by payeng View Post
