Considering only the Looks right now

I went there, saw her, Could not find anything original. Was throughly disappointed, Returned.
      • Headlight taken from Yamaha FZ 16
      • Bikini shaped Front fairing is XCD
      • Side Fins XCD
      • Petrol tank cuts from RTR
      • Rear grab rails CBZ Extreme
      • Tailights XCD
      • Visually nothing to say which would deserve the brand name pulsar

Looks were not enough I guess, but I thought of taking test ride.
      • No pickup to match the brandname Pulsar
      • Feels too light and small (that may be after-effect of FZ16 use)
      • braking neat. <--For a change

If rear is altered a bit then this would be an awesome piece for a communting purpose . what else can you expect from a bike worth 53k +

What's the problem with the other specifications at this price point ?

Sorry for the OT but apart from the girth I believe FZ is the lightest 150 second to R15!!
Also the bike is meant to be light with its 122kg mass

126 Kg is the Dry Weight of the FZ-16, the Kerb (Wet) weight of the FZ-16 is actually 137 Kg. Specs from Yamaha India FZ-16 website

Test ride of mini 4V Light Sport

Hi guys here Im going to tell some facts & stories abt P135 LS

Me & the sales guy where present to test drive the bike, the sales guys was the pillion for 80% of the route & I was pillion for rest of the drive to complete the course

                  Sales guys Wt: 65 – 68kgs Ht: 5’5

                  Me Wt: 78kg Ht: 5’9

For starters this bike is a best looker & overall it makes a sporty commuting

The bike is designed for youth (say from 20 – 28) in mind & the way they have put all the parts together are awesome. The quality of the parts looks for the first time (need to wait atleast for 3-4 months) is really gr8 it spks the quality work, as the bike is new the parts doesn’t rattle even under hard accelerations. The bike is also a real lt wt champion & samll in demeanor. The engine is the main part, which is compact & packs nicer bigger bike spec & techs, even with those it is really small in size & weigh less, from my estimation, the engine will not weigh more than 30-45kg. The Lt Wt figure is not only in paper but it is really present in physical form. i am still thinking does any other manufacture dare to produce this kind of lt wt bike

In the ergonomics parts it is way better than the pulsar family & the XCD, disco iterations. The handle bar placed in such a way that any one can reach its ht & distance. As this bike is less forward, lean u will not feel the pain in the wrist not even slightly. The pegs r placed promptly & they r slightly rearward to get the sporty stance… But the brake pedals r set in the same style of p200/220 which is slightly need getting used to it… The other thing I like to mention is the seat ht, which feels normal until u gain momentum coz as u start to move it feels like u have put up high in air, not only that the bulkiness of the tank is absent which is the prominent in all other pulsars. But it is a premium bike with loaded goods.

Now-a-days bajaj started to give good & quality products (p180/p220) they have learnt the way to work from Honda, Suzuki, yamaha’s. The engine is really creamy to ride but feel bit on down side for sudden acceleration (it can be said as fluttering noise from air & feels like ct100/xcd 125’s). As the engine was new I was unable to go beyond 6k rpm even in idle. The pickup was good as I reved in 2nd gear till 6 k the torque was strong & the tone of the exhaust changed a bit (can be said as grunt not a gut wrenching grunt) but was okay… there was vibes to talk abt in idle & while on move…

When the bike started to move there wasn’t even a itch for sudden bursts but the engine started to sound a bit harsh, stressed (newbie) & the gears where really sweet to shift, stress free (influence of Honda) but still it is a commuter can’t be a scorcher. As I said earlier the engine is compact compared to apache’s & even we can considered 2strokes too. The torque is good u can just coast in 5th gear say at the speed of 20-25kmph..

I requested the sales guy to give a chance to ride the bike in st line to explore & have a first hand exp but he said there is a map & showed it to me which need to be followed, if they fail they will be fined Rs.500/- for new bikes. This really a new info to me but nice one…… not letting me to fill my taste buds with the 4V mini…
When it comes to dynamics the single down tube/engine as stressed member will always score more compared to double tube cradle chassis. As this bike is loaded with 4V tech the bike will perform well & u can gun out of a corner with more speed in bags.

Has for as the chassis goes single down tube chassis weigh more compared to double cradle one, but this bike doesn’t feel like that, which enable to steer in tight traffic with ease & maintains the poise neatly. The seats are broad enough for a normal person with ht of 5’9 & wt of 80kgs. The seat doesn’t feel hard as well as soft but it will not have a pain in ur butt as in the other pulsy’s does.

The suspension is not soft but stiff & it doesn’t feel like a lousy stuff. The front is really stiff compared to rear. But which makes for good ride when there is good & nice road it doesn’t wallow, pitch & bounce even with the pillion aboard, & one more thing as the suspension is stiff u can’t feel the pillion’s wt. even when u hit a bump the suspension will not bottom out even with pillion on board.

“This makes a good track tool for starters like stiff suspension package, good seats, pegs, single down tube chassis, lt wt engine hence the front is also lt wt, short rake steering gr8 tech loaded engine” etc….,
If the bike gets a good run-in, it can be reved till 10k. But as for as the mileage I can’t assure coz the package is equipped with bigger carb of 26mm venturi & it has four valves which will have a better breathing factor but the mileage will go for toss when the real activity of four valve come in to action.. those magic will happen once u go beyond 5k r so…

Even though the power production, torque, top speed is just like the old disco they differ in the way the they r produce.. I really loved the way she perched forward in the second gear with good exhaust tone & lots of eagerness to reach the top end (may not be worlds end)…

Still the bike didn’t convinced me has I doesn’t belong to this class..

This will be the best bike for the starters who thing there is good performance better than the 150 class bike which r heavier & fuel guzzlers.

But I can easily recommend this bike for the upgraders from 100/125/even 135 with just 2 valves..

Good work by bajaj but I still like this tech can be in higher segments comparatively.

                      • tsk tsk. The 135LS's kerb weight for sure is light, but hey, didnt anyone notice that the fuel tank is down to just 8 litres. Kerb weight is usually the bike's dry weight plus oil plus fuel. So, over a normal Pulsar, the 135 immediately looses 7 kilos on the kerb weight due to a smaller tank.
Apart from this though, we at Motospecies, really appreciate the bike. Its light, quick and affordable. Damn, this thing even beats the 150cc bikes to 60km/h!

                          • I saw the Pulsar 135 at the Bajaj showroom today in Bangalore - love the looks of the headlight and the indicator lamps! I have not had a chance to ride it, but that bike is high on aesthetics...
