The best comment I got for my Royal Enfield Bullet Classic is when I took it home for the first time and after listening its sound my mom said "Ye kya tractor utha laya h "

    and I was like

After gaining my sences I replied

"Mom the sound is like music to my ears... its the sweetest sound in the world.. even better then Sonu Nigam or Mohd. Rafi's sound "

Awesome reply by your wife... I can guess his expressions at this comment

thats not how you entertain mileage questions.

Whenever people (specially in traffic signal) ask me for my bike's mileage. I promptly reply "approx 70".

    I ll share two incidents.

I had just bought my Blue Avenger and was getting the customary pooja done. The guy at the temple who makes reciept for the poojas asked me "which bike?"
    I said "Bajaj Avenger"
He had a long look at the bike and said "Hmm 2.5 BHp is nt it?"
I was like "2.5?? No no uncle its above 18.5 Bhp."
"Noo way 18.5 Bhp is not possible"
I said," Uncle I m not aware of any bike that has 2.5 Bhp."
"Check the manual you ll see" He said
I said "uncle I ve checked the manual, its 19.03 Ps and 220 CC"
He was like,'' Aah 220 cc thats what I meant''
    I was

    Second Incident.

I was coming back from gurgaon with my wife as my pillion. Both of us were geared up in gloves, jackets and helmets. As we took the right from Dwarka NH8 link road towards Sector 21 Metro station, we were stopped by cops.

The right was not green as per them, but both of us were sure that the green was on for the right turn. More over nobody would be foolish enough to jump red light in front of cops. Neverthless I said, "Sir aap log bol rahe ho toh sahi hoga, chalaan kaat lo no problem I ll pay''
After paying the fine, one of the cops asked, ''is mein garmi nahi lagti?" (Dont you feel hot in this) Pointing towards our jacket.
I said ''Garmi toh hain but wat to do safety is more important''
He said , ''Wat safety this is good only to protect your clothes, thats all"

    I just smiled.
The second cop by then opined, "Delhi mein ladies ko helmet pehan ne ki zaroorat nahi hain."( In delhi its not compulsary for ladies to wear helmet)

Both me and my wife were Imagine a cop telling you to wear helmet only since its a rule.

My wife commented , "Sir rule nahin hain, par sar toh hamaara hain na"

And I just rode off from there wondering what can you do if the this is the attitude of cops...

I was taking delivery of my CBR150. One guy came to me and started conversation.
    Guy: What is the mileage?
ME: Just now Im taking delivery. (He laughed)
    Guy: What is the price?
    Me:1.35L (the guy said OH)
    Guy:When did u book?
    ME:3 months back.
After that, the guy went inside without even saying another word.
During my first ride, a guy in signal asked me what is the mileage of the bike. I said Im not checking it now since it has not completed first service. The guy asked whats the company`s claim. I said around 35. He said its waste mileage for such a costly bike. I didn't talk to him after that.
As said by RG, I should say hereafter, that I didnt buy this bike for mileage. Should stop the conversation fast.

yeah.. A stupid question would be to ask if it was Kinetic when you told the bike was made by KTM. trust me.. It's happened..

Actually I tend not to argue with this people.. As they are right asking this questions, based on the 'scope' of thoughts they been living with.
For them 50-70 could be the acceptable average, for us, 30-35 is good..

Yesterday in my office elevator ..
A guy saw me coming on my bike (cbr250). He asked me, boss kitna mileage deti hai.. I replied..around 32-35.. as if he got disgusted & said.. Hutt..!! Phir kya fayda ye bike ka.. Just show hai... I realized how worst crime I have committed buying this bike..
Though, I politely said.. Sir, it performs also slightly better.. He confidently argued.. wo theek hai yar, pur mileage nahi hai na.. And his floor thankfully came..

    Electric!!!

    Situation - Traffic Stop

My ride - KTM Duke 200

I stop next to this guy on a HH Splendor... He taps me on the shoulder and asks.. "Boss... Electric vehicle?"
Now I've been asked a hundred questions everyday but never this one and I don't understand why .
So I say "No it isn't.. Why do you ask?". He grins and says "No Silencer".. I point it him and look at him and we both burst out laughing...
