To err is human and this time I am on the wrong side, a situation where I never wanted to be and never thought I would be.

Yesterday, while working on an edit request by Satyen Poojary on the Official Mumbai Offline G2G thread, I was also pruning of some unnecessary posts and xBhp updation going on alongside. In the process, I accidently deleted a big chunk of posts from the Mumbai Offline G2G thread. The mistake was identified almost within seconds, but the data had been deleted from the server. We took every single step that we could’ve taken to ensure that we do not lose any data and fortunately we were able to restore almost all of the posts (barring the posts in the last 2-3 hours before which the backup was taken on the servers). This is partly the reason why xBhp was down for a duration much longer than we had anticipated.

I know any words of apologies from my side are not enough to compensate what has been lost. I know how it feels to lose memories of good times that you’ve believed will always be there for you. I can empathize with the feeling as I too was a part of the scene when xBhp crashed in ’08, almost exactly 2 years ago. I feel I deserve to submit an apology to all of you for what has been done and to assure my member brothers that this will never happen again. Along with this apology, I would request all xBhpians to have faith in this edifice that has been as much the result of their efforts and contribution as it has been for us working behind the scenes. Hoping to be pardoned for an inadvertent error and looking forward to a vibrant xBhp once again.

Nice of you to put up the reason for the unexpected downtime.
I'm sure there will be no hard feelings for what you committed, by mistake.

A few posts deleted shouldn't matter, as the spirit of biking is still the same here in everyone.

Gupta Ji, the gentleman that he, was almost in tears when he accidentaly deleted this thread. I jokingly told him that all Mumbaikars, especially Satyen ji will come and beat hum up with chains!

On a serious note, almost nothing has been lost thanks to the daily backup that is automatically taken in the RAID setup we had. The hundred posts that are issing primarily from the Mumbai offline thread were not restired by the automated system because they were marked as corrupt (no seriously!).

Also only the poste between approx 12.30 PM and 4.40 PM of yesterday are not there.

          All Iz Well!

I thought somebody blocked xBhp just for me as I am using it excessively!!!

Does this have anything to do with my thread posted in tourer section, I am unable to find it... I dont even mind even if it is gone there is no info it it though!

Ohh got it! just checked, looks like everything moved some 2 to 3 hrs backwards here (due to backup restoration I think)

@SunilG: thanks for the info I am a bit confused about waht is happening, and i think there cannot be any information loss which cannot be found again

Yesterday in the evening i just tried to with live tracker going here but i couldn't see, as it was written there that xbhp.com will be back in moments .I was just schoked that someone has hacked it, but by night it was all right and i was happy to see all live works going on here. And Sunil ji no need to apologise as you had not done it knowingly it just happed by mistakely.

Hmmm...I was very much in despair as why I couldn't access xBhp for several hours. I kept trying & retrying for every 10 minutes or so. Anyway, good to see it back again.
