[Which Car?]A used Santro or WagonR?

    Hey fellows,

I am not much into cars, so want to get some advices and reviews and even recommendations for the below mentioned case.

Actually, We (my father actually, but it will be mostly driven by me) are planning to switch to used WagonR or Santro (preferably 3-4 years old) from our existing first car, i. e., M-800 2003.
The thing is that I don't like WagonR because of its scooter-like wheels and AFAIK Maruti is just like HH in bikes, putting stress only on mileage and "uske chakkar mein gaadi jamm ke nahi chalti" & comparatively slightly lesser performance in terms of power, acceleration and all (again, I don't know much about cars, hence, asking you all to throw some light). Is it true that if we compare Santro and WagonR, then WagonR is more mileage-centered and lesser on performance front? And, if yes, then how much (both in mileage and performance).

And, if anybody can make a good deal for both sides (selling WagonR/Santro or buying our M-800), then he/she is welcome to mention here

If u are comparing wagonR with Old generation Santro(non-Xing) than WagonR is better on performance and regarding Santro Xing, can't comment much on that as driven only once,it is somewhat similar to wagonR's performance or slightly better.

^^^ wagonr is better than santro in many ways......first there is three cylinder engine in santro, so more noise, vibrations, lesser fuel economy. Also the engine is not smooth as compared to wagonr 4 pot (i am not comparing blue eyed boy -). Santro is due for major facelift now.

Also there is more powerful compressor in wagonr than santro. wagonr has 117cc and santro has 110cc compressor. Mileage wise also wagonr is better.

Go to any local garage and find out if Santro is 3 cylinder or 4 cylinder.

And who in this world told you 3 cylinder engines are inefficient.. noisy.. blah blah blah?? Any specific text/data or report which says that..please post it here to prove your statement so that everyone can read it. Thanks.

BTW.. present generation Wagon R runs on 3 cylinder engine. By that means.. wagon r should return poor fuel efficiency than Santro which runs on 4 cylinder engine, where as its exactly opposite.

Study refrigeration and airconditioning to know more on ACs. Capacity of cylinder is not the only parameter for better AC effect.
