Tintin 3D: Its truely an adventure rather than a movie. Its not just The Secret of Unicorn where we'll have our adventure, but more than that. Its an adventure very well depicted by Spielberg & the Team.
It was a great feeling to see everyone's childhood character in a grown up & matured way as shown in the movie, though not a rough-&-tough character. Snowy was the best execution part of the team. One can very easily familiarize the small, mischevious yet faithful character of Snowy in the movie. Haddoc seemed lil sober & was missing his thundering typhoons.
The movie started as the secret would have been. Slowly movie turns direction towards The Crab with Golden Claws. Then we the appearance of Bianca Castafiore in this movie, which was originally in King Ottokar's Sceptre. We have a fictional character Sakharine, supposed to Red Rakham's descendant. So, not a very enthusiastic movie for a die hard Tintin fans. But its also true that the story of Tintin has to be altered to have the fun of Tintin & the movie. This aleration part has been very well executed by the team.
Overall: Awesome animation, good change in story, perfect experience & a must watch.
My Rating: 8.5/10

this thread really looks dead..... people are so busy with riding & fb, that no one is watching anything fun.....
@sarbanoxley -- I miss your documentaries..... please keep posting.....
watched Prometheus, though its late to post here & most of us have watched it..... anyways just for a start.....
Prometheus :

The story build-up is at its own pace. The graphics are good & fun to watch. As the story gets its pace, you are getting involved in the movie. The movie proceeds with the glimpses of aliens running away & dying. There were dead bodies of gigantic creatures but no 'Alien' of the original 'Alien' movie. As you start wondering about how this movie is related to 'Alien', we almost reach the end. The movie is at its final fight & then you can relate the whole movie to the original 'Alien'.
At some point it seemed like its not made for every Tom, Dick & Harry. The 'Alien' fans will enjoy it to the core. Others they'll enjoy the graphics, animation, technology & find it little weird finding the aliens growing so fast. Overall a good movie to watch
Rating : 8/10
Note: To enjoy the movie, please watch Alien first.
Watched another documentary yesterda documentary-why-we-fight
A documentary about the business of War. Rather to say in different words, a documentary about 'military industrial complex' (As coined by Eisenhower). How the wars are created by few to kill many & to make profit for few handfuls. A good documentary about different wars directly related to US.

Rating : 7/10

I think we have similar taste in movies. Have seen over 50% of the list and i also agree about the rating. Since you have pursuit of happiness so high in the list, i'm surprised you haven't seen/named 'Seven Pounds' in the list.Originally posted by aargee View PostWell not really

Saw a good hardcore movie. Gangs of Wasseypur. Amazing acting, direction. Each one of the characters were just perfect. Dialogue is really RAW. It's actually advisable not to bring kids but I some kids at PVR Priya Delhi. LOVED it. Anurag Kashyap is a gem.
This movie is not the usual "Bollywood" cinema. Don't expect any drama, heroine or romance. You will find everything of the aforementioned stuff but in much RAW sense. Kudos to the entire GOW team."HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic

Hmm...ok...the review is also good; I'll keep this in mind in addition to "A League of their own" by Tom Hanks that was suggested.Originally posted by krish2778 View Posti'm surprised you haven't seen/named 'Seven Pounds' in the list
Sure I WILL; but I'm not a fan of any actor/actress/director etc. I only choose to watch good movies that leaves the heart crushed or keep tickling the brain. I'd watched Snatch, but till now couldn't understand much. Too fast movieOriginally posted by krish2778 View PostLead role by our very own Will Smith, Its a must see in my opinion
Shouldn't be that way either
Let me tell you something; as a movie lover, yes that 3rd part only deserves something on that range. However, if you watch the sequel (believe me, I watched the Matrix series back to back to back some 2-3 timesOriginally posted by Shibadip View PostThe matrix part I deserves at-least 9.5/10
Agree with the rating of the 3rd part
) one followed by two followed by three. You'll certainly appreciate the entire story.
Its very much justified & I really didn't see much flaw on third part. What Neo chooses to do is righteous task & as per the prophecies Neo saved the mankind from the agent, but certainly not from the Matrix.
Last night watched Shaft (2000) & watching Stealth (boring Scifi); Shaft actually is a good movie but not rated well. I was constantly reminded of the movie Untouchables, just that, the latter movie wasn't action oriented but former was. But certainly good movie.
Anyone watched Untouchables?Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Why not rate the movies one has watched recently according to him...and in one line give your views. But dont tell anything about the story. That way this thread will be pretty active as people keep seeing some movies now and then..
Heres my go at it..
Gangs of Wasseypur...9/10... Gr8 movie. Loved it. First half is just awesome. Acting and direction and story everything is gr8. But beware of the gaalis and bad language and decide accordingly whom to take along in the movie..
Teri Meri Kahani : 6/10.. Average romcom flick. Some songs are good to hear and watch in the theatre. Other than that i will give it a pass.
Detachment (2011).. 8.5/10..Awesome Movie. Its not an entertainer, its shows how kids are these days in the school that is not well known and how teachers lives are dealing with the students. Adrien brody along with others has done a good job in acting. Highly recommended.
