SJCAM 5000 WiFi
I received my SJCAM 5000 WiFi today.
Its was just 2K difference between the SJCAM 5000 and the SJCAM 4000 so I instead went for the 5000 Wifi Model.
This is my first Action Cam ... so lets see how this goes :-)Last edited by Naveen Vajja; 03-11-2016, 09:22 PM.When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

Re: Action Cameras for Bikers
Hey guys, I have a query about a Action Camera, since it will be my first camera, I don't want anything super fancy, my requirements :-
1. It should have OTA to transfer the files to Smart Phones (Since I don't own a computer)
2. It should have a external Auto on record button (I would like it to be a quick affair to turn it on and record at the same time so no looking for another button to start recording after camera turns on).
3. It should have at least one hour time to record I dont mind half hour as well. (since I won't use it like most moto loggers do, and my commute is only half hour to 45 mins. )
4. A mic option would be nice just plug and play stuff would be great.
5. Do not need Super HD quality videos, just normal HD would be fine as well.
6. If anyone has a 2nd hand Action camera they would like to get rid off, I wouldn't mind as long as it's in my range.
7. Range:- 2,000 rs to 10,000 rs depending if i have that amount saved (since I'm in no hurry to purchase it and would like to view my options.
I hope I cleared everything but in case I have not just ask away, thanks in advance.

Re: Action Cameras for Bikers
I have recently purchased a non-official Yi Camera Travel edition (made by Xiaomi) second hand on ebay for Rs. 4700. It also has waterproof case and multi extendable Selfie stick. Xiaomi as you know, gives more hardware for less money.Originally posted by shadcool786 View PostHey guys, I have a query about a Action Camera, since it will be my first camera, I don't want anything super fancy, my requirements :-

YiCamera has serious hardware for this price. A Sony 16 Megapixels sensor, with support for upto 64 GB Cards. Quality & Dynamic range is great for a camera this cheap.
Regarding your requirements, a bit of input from my side:-
1: Yes, it does, over Wifi. Install the dedicated app from Android play store.
2. Yes, it has, for both photo and video there's one dedicated key, but you can toggle using the power key,
3. 80 minutes on one charge, of 1080p video, is what a review site found. You try 720p30fps, and you might get better battery life.
4: it has only 2 internal microphones, but they're good, and sound is recorded @ 128 kbps. They don't work well with waterproof case, obviously, even if its not submerged.
5: it does 1080p60fps or 2K30fps or even lower options are available, like 720p120fps, or 720p30fps, or so.
6: No thanks.
I just got it, its an amazing deal at this price. Only its battery is older & weak... But on ebay you can get new ones too.
7: Well, you can get a new box packed travel edition from ebay, within your budget.
eBay has a buyer protection programme, whereby your money reaches the seller only if you're happy and satisfied, otherwise you can return the goods. I've used the same.
Check out a sample video of YiCamera, I've recorded this in 1080p, in 48 frames per second, with sound from the camera itself:

How much does a Bike Mount cost?, I don't need a waterproof case since I won't be using it when raining.Originally posted by Gollum View PostDo note that it does not come with any accessory like bike/helmet mounts or waterproof case."Biking: the Under-Rated and Drug-Free Antidepressant"
