Rode to college praying that HPCl pump has enough fuel to tank up my poor apache, rode all the way 45-50 km/hr just to make sure that every drop of fuel is utilized. Nearest fuel pump being HPCL, had half a kilometre line so rode to North campus which has 2 HPCL pumps nearby, the one next to Kashmiri Gate had less line in 2 wheelers and more in 4 wheelers. Tanked up,thanked God and rode to the faculty.

And I am informed NO lecture, Damm it!..I ride all the way praying that I reach without pushing the bike and no class. Cursing the govt and officers, rode back at 40ish speeds. Even splendors, platinas overtook me .

Tentative average 60-64 kmpl but riding continuously at 45km/hr is terribly frustrating.

Current news being that IOCL employees are still striking, but rest of them will join work soon. Hope the situation improves soon.

Im american..but im not well versed in the science of gasoline or the business so i dont really know other than the prices fluctuate every other day almost. Yes the oil production in the US is a lot more than india. Hell the city i live in is a production center with a few refineries. I didnt know the us system was highly subsidized if at all. Indeed Cheap gas has resulted in the dearth of mass transit except in the big cities. @aparajith: didnt know you had a background in this..im just speaking from my expierience.

Same situation. I am riding my Zma at 40 in traffic and 60 on open roads. I guess I am getting around 45 kmpl. Still 9 liters left in tank.

Good to know that you finally got petrol. But the twist is the class being cancelled.

Till the very recent past, in USA, a litre of petrol was more expensive than a bottle of water. That's how much it is subsidised. I think its still the same now.

If the American govt hadnt subsidised fuel, Ford, GM, Chrysler wouldn't have sold so many cars and Shell/Mobil/Exxon wouldn't be so powerful. You would have had a large network mass transit in place, and people surely wouldnt be buying as many SUV's as they were.

Bhailog the pumps are still closed here, i hpoe the supply is there by tomorrow. i think if im really bored then ill wait on the highway at the toll gate and tag along a petrol tanker headed for tumkur

and autowallahs had a diwali bonanza by asking 3-4x times the normal fare with an attitude "jaana hai toh aao warna jaao" wow what atrocity !

people ask me "abeeyyy bike ko dhakka dena pada aaj, kahin petrol nahi mila, tune bhara liya kya " i lie back saying my bike's just got half a litre left dont want to attract attention

Dont worry xeno, the strike has been called off, expect fuel in your place by tomorrow or day after, depending upon how far the fuel depot is.

                        Akshay which area?

Did I miss a point? I have no idea what were they striking for? If the media didnt create such a hysteria I wouldnt have been stuck in traffic for almost 2 hours for 2 kms yesterday. Everyone should just relax I mean moment they hear anything everyone just goes beserk in this city. No order at all. I really wonder whats been happening in the government if things like this happen so often.

I almost ran a Reva guy off the road, he was acting way too smug

these strikes are totally anti-national why does the govt just ban these organisation who do whatever they want and the public is the only sufferer here. They don't think about the public. These wont matter to me as i have a eco-friendly ride with me[i.e. a Bicylcle ] but still its pathetic to see these incidents :X .But I am also feeling sorry for myself as i have to go to school on monday ....or it would have been and holiday for me!!
