  • [Photo Feature]: My 2 worst experience with the Traffic Police and RTO personals.

Hello Guys.... My 2 worst experience with the Traffic Police and RTO personals.

1st Incident : It was in 2010 march and all started in Madiwala Station (Bangalore)... I met with an accident near koramangala water tank... (dog crossed

suddenly so clashed with it and fell) my R15 was quit damaged heavily the right position of my bike was totally gone i sustained a bad knee injury and burns

in my elbows hmm ok... Now i need to repair my bike and applied for the insurance those guys asked me for a police copy stating that the incident have

been reported to police.. the next day itself i went to the station with my friend and told the cop what scene happened and asked them for the letter for

insurance purpose... first thing he asked was is that bike yours..... i told yes and showed him my RC and licence then he told that how do i believe you that u

hit a dog. i laughed and told sir i just want a letter for my insurance nothing else... he started shouting at saying what in-case you have hit and run a person,

and told there is a person admitted in St Jhons hospital where a biker had accident with him nd drove away with out stopping. I was shocked hearing this.

i told him sir if i done that do you expect me to come to station for the letter... we both started arguing and finally the scene got worst.. My friend told that

cop that you can come and check the bike which is in Orion motors and confirm to my surprise he came with us to check and he saw my bike and asked

whats the rate of the bike.. i told 1.2 lakh.. he was like why u brainless guys spend your money like this... i with some aggressive told that its my hard

earned money and i know what is best for me.. he kept silent and we all went back to station... My friend told me not to speak a word with cop let me

handle this... he spoke to the cop and the cop now demanded 3500 rs for that letter.. we both were shocked and asked for what is that amount.. he told me

big list like... over speeding, dangerous riding, negligence riding etc... i got really pissed off and told what in case if dont pay... he told me that he wont

give me the letter and even he will book case on me for over speeding, dangerous riding etc.... i really went mad but my friend just signaled me and told to

be quit... then he had some conversation with the cop and finaly he told me to paid 2200 rs and got the letter and his advise too.. like respect elders talks

and dont argue with an officer.. I just took the letter and came off... and to my surprise a month after i heard that the same cop got best cop award..... am

realy feel sorry for our bangalore people for having these guys in law and order....

2nd Incident : This happened in May 2013 in Tamil Nadu near a place called Ambur. I was on my way to my grandparents home which is nearly 220kms

from bangalore on my bike this is not my first time so usual i geared up with all protections and left bangalore early morning by 7.30am.. Was passing this

Ambur city and at the outskirt of the city on the highway suddenly a cycle fellow ran in the middle of the road pushing his cycle with out even looking

around. Before reacting to his move hit him directly at 95+ kmph.. I was thrown away in the air both me nd by bike where dragged nearly 150 meters on

the road and lye still... Stood up on my legs saw people rushing towards me... my left collar bone was injured where i was not able to lift my left hand.

Lucky i was not hurt any where else thanks to DSG products. Cycle guy had his leg fractured so took that guy to a hospital there the case was registered..

Cops told me submit all the required documents which i did and they verified everything. I was told that i will get my bike after a week only as per the

procedure after that RTO person will inspect the same and release the bike.. I went after 2 weeks after getting my treatments to the police station where

they took my signature and asked be to come to RTO which is 15 kms from there. RTO inspector inspected the bike asked the police guy about the incident.

After a while RTO inspector called me in and told me since it is Karnataka registration you have to pay Tamil Nadu road Tax... I was surprised to hear it

and i asked why is that so when i have paid life time road tax. He started shouting saying if i say you listen and do the same no more questions should be

asked he told. I told him calmly sir this is the first time am hearing about this kind so only asking you what kind of rule is this. He was shouting i have lot of

works i cant explain you if you need your bike you pay the road tax are i will impound your bike and make that you will never get it back. I was totally

pissed off hearing this and came out of his office then one more cop came and told that if vehicles are involved in any kind of things other than registered

state of the vehicle you have to pay the road tax for the state where the incident is occurred. I just din want to talk to any of the RTO department F**k**s so

went and paid 9600.00 Rs road tax after they calculated the amount checking with the ex showroom price of the bike with the showroom people... Finally i

got my bike back and happy with it after all these kind of troubles...Still today am waiting for the clearance letter from the RTO people when asked they

    say it will take time.

These are the 2 incidents which happened to me with the Department people which i felt very bad for the way they shouted and treated me and i still

wonder are the rules really there like what they told me. Kindly suggest others what has to be done at these kind of situations.

Yes!!! Biking in INDIA sucks!!! Sad to say this as an Indian, but true
But you could have been bit safe having known all these. Driving at 90+ inside ambur town/city is not good or safe..
And you got to pay road tax of a particular state if you are riding in that state continuosly ( for some 2 months or so ). If you are on a ride and get caught, you can say that am on a trip and can escape. But when you meet with an accident, there is is no proof for how long you have been driving in that state. So there is no way you can escape without paying if asked to

        Hope you are fine

Make it a point, Lets have PEN Camera always in our pocket of jacket. Switch it on, before interacting with a cop. Then put it on You tube.
About Road Tax, If you have a valid NOC from your state, they cant charge you of any tax in other state. But we normally skip it. So, carefull next time.
Its time, we must have literate guys in Law and order dept.

Re: My 2 worst experience with the Traffic Police and RTO personals.

I am very disheartened after reading this incident. This is really very sad and bad example of the way we bikers are treated. Do they think we are Tata, Birla or Ambani if we ride a Rs1.2L bike? If the same accident would have happened on a Platina then they would have simply asked for a much lesser amount to 'Rafa-dafa' the case. An FIR costs Rs.0, yes my friend Rs.0....

Do one thing, go to any police station and tell them that you lost your sim card and want to get a letter from Police in order to get a duplicate sim. Give them all the details that are mentioned on the packet. You will be surprised to see that they won't charge a penny. Reason?? Huh c'mon Dude it's just a sim card... Not your R-15 or a CBR...

Having all the documents/ NOC, still these Ch****a demanding for money is what makes me angry.. Instead of showing sympathy to a guy who has just come out of a hospital these Ba******s want money, only money...

IMHO, if you could have any how offered some money to the cyclist for his treatment, the case wouldn't have been registered, its just a thought...

Are you saying that the cyclist's family wanted to make some money out of your bike's' insurance money?

This is why Indian cops and politicians can heave a sigh of relief that the gun laws here are not like those in the US. Else every single a**e***e b*****d cop would have been blown away. There is nothing you can do other than move out of the country and go to saner parts of the world. It is the same story in every single state in the country. Only an Indian version of Bastille will change things. Much blood needs to flow in the streets before an agglomeration of small princely states becomes one nation. We need to look around us to understand this.
