Re: My 2 worst experience with the Traffic Police and RTO personals.

I had similar incident once, however i was hit from behind by a girl on scooty.I was like WTF?And all this happened outside the RTO office so cops arrived within a second, coz they knew its party time.I was on bike still didn't fell down(somehow absorbed the shock) but my taillight assy was gone, that girl was injured i think so i parked my ride and helped her,i asked her if she was alright. She said yes,but those cops instead started to abuse me,and i said,"Aisa h sir, jara tamij mai reh k baat kijiye." He stared at me like he would kill me but then that girl told other cop that it was her fault and i was not guilty.Still the cop wanted to cease my bike or charge a bomb, but i also decided not to pay and called up my uncle(my father's friend) who was the MLA those days and he talked to the cop.
Finally after sometime they released my bike and said,"aage se dhyan rakhna".BDW no fault of mine still dhyan rakhna.
      Hats off to our system.

Re: My 2 worst experience with the Traffic Police and RTO personals.

You have been looted officially. I am sure there is no rule which says if you are involved in an accident you need to pay road tax!!!

Try writing to the Department of Personnel Reforms of TN state. Google should provide you a link. Hopefully you remember that objects name which had no time to explain the rule under which it is charging you tax. Mention its name in your letter.

At a very young age (16) I developed a deep disgust & hatred for Police and RTO. I can empathise with you. It is for this reason I have been thinking of getting a used & abused vehicle for dirt cheap and use it for daily purpose. They want to impound? Sure-Hand over the keys :-D

These malicious assortment of flesh & bones in the guise of human beings know very well that we care a lot for our rides and wouldn't leave it in their custody. Thats the weakness these objects play on.

There are some rules to follow when on the road to avoid such situations:
1] Don't get into an unfavorable situation, preempt them before they happen
2] If you do, try to get out of the situation cleanly and quickly
3] Even if you loose some money, its actually buying peace of mind in such situations
4] Sometimes its hard but best to ignore ones principles for the sake of peace of mind ie bend instead of breaking
5] If things really bad as they did when you interacted with cops, get hold of a local lawyer to accompany you for a small fee while interacting with the cops

But most important is rule one
          Ride safe.

Re: My 2 worst experience with the Traffic Police and RTO personals.

It is really sad to see such ridiculous behaviour from the protectors of the public. The only and best way to avoid such situations is if involved in an accident. Try to compromise with the second party as much as you can. Because if the third party(protectors) get involved then both have to shell moollaas from you pockets. One Incident I remember involving a cyclist and myself. The mistake was of the cyclist. I rammed him at 60kmph. Unfortunately the guy was in a bad mood and started abusing me with words. Fortunately a big crowd did not gather. Even though it was no fault of mine. I did not speak a single word. After he became tired from his heroic speech. I just asked him if he was injured. I don't know what came in to him he was astonished and he just said sorry sir it was my fault and I am Ok. I just took the bike and carried on. Just try you level best to compromised with the second party.

            Cheers.

i've also had some experiences with rto guys, not such serious ones but still...since i've started riding my pulsar180(my first bike)....i've been caught a number of times just because i was riding a pulsar, they had targeted all d pulsarians, about 7-8 of pulsar owners were stopped and the papers were being checked, can u believe, the cop literally cross checked the frame number on my smart card with the bike...hehh...while letting me go he says.."tumchich gaadi ahe"

Very sad story and an eye opener...
Its a truth that our police is corrupt and have no mercy when comes to pulling money...

I have a CBR250R and have been stopped many times by police guys just to check the documents....

They see an alien looking costly bike, cash register tings in their brain....

Have all papers and take all precautions that you don't need any assistance from them.....
Wot can a person do? Lose his bike? Get jailed? Get thrashed? Have new cases against his name? Or pay bribe?

Certainly one has to helplessly pay the bribe....

Glad that u and ua Bluey is alright now

May this accident never happen to anyone. Be safe.

My father just curses these Khakhi wardi waale....
We were pulled up for dark glasses they were within the permited limit but still fined where as other vehicles with political party stickers were just passing by...
Now its completely banned in mumbai after the 26/11 incident.
Is it worth complaining about a dishonest cop to the top cop of mumbai???

To all those saying india is corrupted,it is just so because
We ,you ,me all decided to pay them without any issue ,if you would've demanded some clarifications ,protested against them to show real reasons and fair policy,he would not have made money from you,I know you did it to minimize the hassle and P.I.T.A. police system ,and believe me ,I would've done same ,but then again we don't have any right to say INDIA IS CORRUPT ,THEY'RE CORRUPTS EVERYWHERE, instead there are such people everywhere who will try to come out nice and easy with bribery. ..

Re: My 2 worst experience with the Traffic Police and RTO personals.

My experience in 2011 with cops in border district of kasargod is the most noteworthy one I had.

I was riding from my home (112 kms south of cochin) to Pune.

I reached the kasargode border as it inched towards twilight. I was stopped by cop for headlamps on. When they stopped my I was doing some 50 kmph. So they had little opportunity to talk about that.

For all questions I replied in English only. A constable said "do you think you are good in english, our Sub inspector sir is MA English and he is winsome on English" SI was struggling width his broken english. Then I said I can speak Malayalam as well and started in it. Now the cops are in comort zone and started their work. Why riding long? Don't you know such bikes are not intended to ride this long? I said I am comfortable doing it and it's my passion and I enjoy it. Then SI said we drink alcohol to get enjoyment why nit that? With a pig like smile.

One guy came and checked out the armers of my jacket and said "this is good for impressing girls, isnt it? No better than that"

Discussion gone longwe than an hour even if all papers where intact.

After I lost an important hour before the sun sets, SI reminded me, "this is what happenens when you argue with cops, you lost your time. Mow you can leave"

                              -------------

This nation is corrupted. Easiest way is to move out of this sick nation, like somebody said. But some how I belive, I canchange this with great people with me.

This all happens because of two things from my observations:

                              1. People don't wanna follow traffic rules and regulations for strange reasons.

                              2. People lack awareness about rules, their rights and goodness of following traffic rules. Even most traffic cops don't know the rules.

Addressing just the second one will change this country, I belive.

Currently my most ambitious project is the same.

My last attempt before saying myself that this nation is sick forever and moving out of India.
