It happens to me too. So I do it in Splits,
1. Look out for the rain, if no sign of rain --> Dust the bike full, Just use wet cloth on Lights, mirror & tank.
2. 2nd day --> still no sign of rain, Dust it again (I live in a dusty place near Haryana - Rajasthan border) & Rough hose wash,
3. Day 3 --> Still being lucky, then I do for the proper pressure wash and detailing a bit( Detailing part -Rare though).

LOL. I understand your frustration mate. I dont really face such situations often, but whenever it happens, I curse myself.
By the way, have you thought about Helping farmers of drought area, by bringing them rain!!! You will be blessed to the core...

Brother Jon, detail your bike once with wax/polish and see rains intensify!
It's such fun see a minimum of 2 hours of effort in washing and then detailing get lost in under 10 mins of hard core rains.

It used to piss me off earlier, but now whenever Bangalore gets too hot, I simply detail my bike. I'm Rain Man!

I Live in Andamans where it rains 8 months a year, so i never thought i am some kind of rain maker until it rained in Chennai, Mysore, Bengaluru, Srinagar and Leh, the place i stayed the night during my travels Rain makes me super happy so i had no complaints until i bought the duke.

Its was a clear sunny day, when KTM guys called me for my bike's delivery. After PDI, just as i took the bike out, Heavy downpour started and by the time i reached my place 6kms away. My brand new bike was looking like i just came back from some offroading event

Since, then everytime i wash my bike, it rains including this morning. till Yesterday it was October heat by the time i finished washing it turned into a raging storm.

Ha Ha...! Good thread! You are not alone, love to see so many have this same blessing!

It started for me during my early bicycling days and it never ended... Till date whenever I wash my beloved rides (no matter how many wheels), the same day or the next day I can rest assured a rain is awaiting. Downpour I love it, just a drizzle I hate it because it makes one hell of a mess.

This week's event: This Monday I washed my RC, Tuesday just about 4 KMS to reach home after office, a good rain to make my ride one hell of a mess. Thought to leave it like that for a whole week. But Wednesday morning I can't look at my bike like that which was looking brand new just 24 hours before. Saw a heavy sunshine on Wednesday at 8 AM, thought it's a good day, it won't rain and washed it again. Just after 2 PM afternoon, the sun started to disappear and our office lights were on at 3PM, the perfect rain was followed. By the time I left office rain was completely stopped but Bangalore roads can make your ride dirty even when the rain was stopped two days before.

I really love to see so many are out there just like me, like trees I think we also play an important role in bringing rain!

Ha ha ! Nice thread going on here. So this Tuesday, after a long return trip from B'lore to Kolkata, I thought of giving my R3 a proper wash. Well I did that, and the R3 was glwaming, and went to office. While coming back with my shiny R3, heavy downpour started, so heavy that nothing can be seen and the fun fact is I was only 2-3 kms away from home. I said to myself, why why? Why can't the rain gods let me keep a clean bike for at least a day? Then thought of giving the R3 a proper rain wash. So when I came back at last, and parked the bike, the bike got clean actually. As it rained heavily, there was also no slush only sand. I was super happy and after sometime dried up the bike, removed as much sand I can from the swing-arm and engine belly section. Rest will be removed once I take the bike out.

As much as possible, I try not to wash the bike during the rainy season here in Chennai. I ended up spending 2 hours making it sparkling clean and was driving on the main road. There was a pot-hole, ssshshhshh....a car went past me and the pot-hole was emptied of its contents and guess what, Me and my bike were the end-consumer.

I had to spend another 2 hours washing it again. Then decided not to wash it at all during rainy season and just clean the chain alone when needed.

Yeah i agree with aargee! we are the rainmakers!

People in TN will have definitely heard about Mr. Ramanan (FYI, he's the person in the meteorological dept, who forecasts the weather on TV, and he is wrong 90% of the time. Some say that there's a conspiracy going on behind the whole scene, as he probably predicts heavy rain when he needs to take his children shopping, or spend time with them!)

We could probably give him a run for his money! Lol!

Doesn't matter even if it's sunny October, i washed my 220 on super hot Sunday and it rained on Tuesday, and adding to my agony, sewerage construction work is going on near my office, so my all shiny ride is now draped in mud and slush😑
