Bangalore Xbhpains.. ADOPTION Alert..!!!!
This 5-6 month old female Indy was rescued by Noorain from a construction site, where a group of workers were beating her with sticks. Noorain got away with the puppy in her arms even as the workers tried to attack her as well. That's when she came to us. Now, one day in a clinic and a few x-rays later, this puppy is in the lovely foster care of Vidhu and Amber. She has soft tissue damage on her forelimbs and some cuts and bruises from the beatings, but she'll heal in no time. I've named her Kranti, which means 'revolution', because she's such a little fighter. To adopt Kranti and give her the love she needs for the rest of her life, contact Animal Aid Alliance on 9845430054

Re: Off Topic : A thread about doggies..
Ok, so finally decided to gift myself a Labrador Retriever this October. Although mom is still little bit hesitant, but thanks to my freelance work, I have all the time to give to the new comer.
But would need some help/guidance from pet parents here.
I am listing things that is must for a pup, just want to confirm some things.- Is brushing their teeth a daily affair or bi weekly?
- Same with bathing? Once in a week and daily grooming would do?
- Mom wont allow him over bed, so is it mandatory to get typical dog bed or DIY would do?
- What about nail clipping? Is it easy to do or needs to be done at vet when I go for his shots?
Thanks in advance.Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

Re: Off Topic : A thread about doggies..
Guys, my friend Rishabh, had a Golden Retriever named Bruno. At the age of 2 years and 3 months, on 2 June 2014, the dog died.
He was running around in the garden, barking at street dogs. They were probably communicating in some dog language or something. Minutes later, he started panting heavily (breathing in and out fastly). The servant spread a bucket of water on the garden so that he may feel better in the heat. Bruno laid down on this patch... and don't know why... but breathed his last.
He probably had a heart attack. You can imagine what Rishabh must have felt.
I used to play with him a lot. I used to hide behind doors and fool this dog. I used to run just to give him a tease. When I heard of this news, it was almost like a shock. It felt tearful as all the moments came flashing right in my head.
This breed is very sensitive, and very prone to heart attack. Despite my repeated refusals, Rishabh again got a Golden retriever only!! And he named it the same, Bruno. According to him, he wanted to have a glimpse of Bruno back.
This breed knows how to make someone smile. Bruno had this quality, of being lively, jumping here and there & never biting anyone (except for early 1st year, when the teeth develop), always playful and full of life. Somewhere inside, I still feel sad for the dog.
What a perfect dog, he didn't deserve to die for sure.

Re: Off Topic : A thread about doggies..
My sincere condolences to Rishabh. I had a pet named Gypsy and he was a Spitz. He was the ever shining light of our family. He came into our family when I was five and stayed with us for eleven years. My entire childhood revolved around him and all my childhood memories are about adventures. He died when I was sixteen, I still remember that day as if it was yesterday. I was never the same guy again.
It has been a decade since his demise and not a day goes by without remembering his pranks.
I can fathom what you guys might be going through.

Sid_dha_raj : Thanks buddy. Dogs come, stay, change us and go... Got to accept life as it is. Sometime in life, I will own a dog in life again, but that will be when I'm ready for it, like when I have food source, family, etc.
1. Brushing teeth can be bi weekly.Originally posted by prateek2210 View PostOk, so finally decided to gift myself a Labrador Retriever this October. Although mom is still little bit hesitant, but thanks to my freelance work, I have all the time to give to the new comer.

2. Bathing can be everyday or once in 2 days, if its ok by you. Otherwise bi weekly or weekly but not beyond that in any case. More so in summers. Dogs need to stay cool to be happy.
Please note that this breed is sensitive to bad weather conditions. Avoid exposing them to any immediate hot-cold effect. The results may be.... fatal.
3. DIY would do. These dogs feel hotter than humans due to their hide, so use appropriate bedding in summers & winters accordingly.
4. You need a nail clipper and you can do it yourself, but often dogs get scared by this. You might need 1-2 more guys to help hold and distract the dog. Don't let the dog see his paw while you do it.
Or a dog shop can do it for you, for about Rs. 50 to 200 or so...
And one more thing: never take any reaction from your dog casually. This will also help you to communicate with your dog better. They have behavior patterns that can be easily understood by the owner.
When your dog turns 2-3 months, give him leather or plastic things to chew. Their teeth get settled in place by this.
If you don't then you might end up with a dog that fondly bites everyone in your family.
And don't lose patience in the initial days when the puppy relieves himself in your home... They pick up healthy habits, gradually though.

Re: Off Topic : A thread about doggies..
Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish wolfhound named Belker. The dog’s owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn’t do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.
As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.
The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker’s family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.
The little boy seemed to accept Belker’s transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker’s death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.
Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, “I know why.”
Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I’d never heard a more comforting explanation. He said, “People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life – like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?”
The six-year-old continued, “Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”

Back to Tyson, he was diagonesed with CDV (cainine Distemper Virus) when he was 7 months old, doctor advised us euthanasia but we fought the virus and currently Tyson is living a good/healthy life. A year or two back we had this cutie named Sayli. My friend found her alone on road side, brought her to our room. As we bachelors used to leave the room in the morning & come back in the evening so it was difficult to keep Sayli alone. Hence Sayli made friendship with our neighbour hotel owner where she enjoyed all the lavish food & attention.
She loved to get a ride on the front space of scooter, the horn made her bark (& us laugh). attaching a picture of her.
(she was kept in the glove box only for this photo)Last edited by Traveller01; 12-03-2014, 12:37 PM.

below are answers to your question.
Is brushing their teeth a daily affair or bi weekly?
- You can do it once a week depends upon what they eat
Same with bathing? Once in a week and daily grooming would do?
There is no as such daily grooming required for labs, Labs love water even if you do it everyday they are happy but will suggest every week. get a good brush to remove his hairs.
Mom wont allow him over bed, so is it mandatory to get typical dog bed or DIY would do?
No beds at all even if you buy it they wont sleep on it.. they love floors mainly nearby your wash room as they are cold places and labs loves cold.
What about nail clipping? Is it easy to do or needs to be done at vet when I go for his shots?
Cut it when a doc meets you for his monthly check up and injections required for the worms problem they have.
Few more pointers from me.
1. Don't feed them much, they will keep eating the food all the time even if there tummy is full they will eat it
2. Shout at beat him at times (Not shit out of him for sure
if you don't do this they wont listen to you in future
tell him you are the boss all the time.
3. Let him roam around in the house, if your mom in not comfortable tie him from day 1, if you set him lose for few days and then if you tie him, he wont stay they
4. Even if you stay in home you have to take him out for atlest 3 time a day.
5. Potty/ Pee Training is important.
6. There a vaccine for him every 2 months.
7. Make sure do not feed him lot of Pedigree or else later he wont eat home cooked food.
8. Rotis should be made without oil.
9. Find a doctor for him visit.
10. Every month Worm treatment medicines are to be given.
11. Labs do not stay alone they need some one all the time with them.
finally Attaching my dog pic MAX
