In general, if you are buying a cam to be used like a point and shoot or a prosumer camera -- go for a canon or for a DSLR(pure pro use), go for a Nikon.Originally posted by cosgeo99 View PostHello guys, Im planning to buys a Sony DSC H50.
I was earlier planning to buy the Nikon D40 but its a bit costly and im not impressd with th 55mm lens.

I need to know honestly what made u 'not impress' with the 55mm lens?Originally posted by cosgeo99 View PostHello guys, Im planning to buys a Sony DSC H50.

U shud know how to use it properly.
And a choice of H50 over D40 is unjustifiable. A P&S cannot be compared to a DSLR no matter how much the price is overlapped. U need to spend at least a year with a DSLR to understand its working unlike any P&S which gives 'digitized' results and not 'natural' results.
Again its the IQ of the man behind camera and not the camera itself.
P.S. I see these comparisons again and again, kinda ZMA vs Avenger, D40 vs S3IS .. Having same prices does not mean its same product with same attribute !

So, do you mean to say Canon could only make good P&S cameras?Originally posted by chauhan_saurabh View PostIn general, if you are buying a cam to be used like a point and shoot or a prosumer camera -- go for a canon or for a DSLR(pure pro use), go for a Nikon.

For Entry Level, there's Canon EOS 400D & Nikon D40... As per the reviews read by me, i find Nikon D80 to be a real good one and even am planning to buy one in the near future... See if you can slightly increase your budget... About Nikon D40 its not compatible with few lens mount, doubly make sure before you buy any model...Originally posted by haxor View Posthey friends ..which is the best entry level dslr camera in the market right now and yeah in the next 3 months how many new model will be launched? and yeah

even you can compare a200 with D40 but the thing is that a200 is not comaptible with 3rd party lenses which is a headache!!Originally posted by augusta View Postsony a200 against the nikon D60...what say guys??? which one is better??
and 18-70 mm and (75-300 lenses cost 10k)
and yeah also looking forward to D60 and canon 1000d which comes under 30k and the prices will come down bye some months..Speak Less,Speak Wise!

Yep, the D80 has a AF motor in it. 54k is damm costly, it is damm cheap in US since it is an outdated body. AFAIK the D80 was costing 32K body only[gray], but this was before the D90 came out. I would advise u to go for the D90, since it has got a CMOS sensor where as the D80 has a CCD sensor.Originally posted by haxor View Postd80! and does it has AF motor unlike D40? and live view?

canon 1000d is a small rip of the 450D.the main flaw i find in D60 is that no AF motor.so i have to spend on AF motor lenses which are costly.if u are inclining on nikon ask speedpujari for further assistance.Originally posted by haxor View Postthanks for your reply my friend but the thing is that i cant afford D90 or D80 i was talking about canon 1000d and nikon D60
but out of those two i prefer 1000d.i saw a few pics of it in our recent exhibition.and they were good.there are no stupid questions.
