My Brother in law had ordered it through some shoping network and he did not get any memory cards along with the cam . I brought a 2 GB card here in Coimbatore which cost me just Rs 350 . Who ever is buying it for you ask them to chek on the shopping network what all are included in the package . If you are buying that i would suggest you buy the lens adapter its called DMW LA3 . Its dificult to get in India . Once you have that you can try and fix any other lence ( Tele/Macro ) , I mean a different brand .It cost around 28 pounds i guess

Hey guys.. I think i m more or less finalizing Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ 28..
I m just waiting for the price confirmation by my relative...

Also m not that used to it's manual zoom..
I know it's undoubtably one the best cams available..but it's too costly for me..
Where as FZ28 hopefuly fits in my budget n is a good one for a beginner like me....Ketan Nikharge.

Info Help : Nikon D40 in bangalore
Been a long time with a small camera. Want to move up since a compact point and shoot does not do justice to what ever nature scenery i try to capture.
Given my small budget, i want to purchase the Nikon D40 with the kit lens. I some day dream to own the Pentax weather proof SLR with those amazing lenses...
Please help. I am inclined to buying from the grey market FYI... since its selling for approx 415 USD in USofA where as a call to GK Vale in bangalore gets me a quote of Rs 31K which is bull...
Help with some info.

I dont need to worry about the build quality of the Nikon. But if its the olympus ....... i would not comment unless i get a hands on experience which is next to impossible
..... i would not mind any brand but after going through reviews about the olympus... i very much prefer the D40 for fewer cons than the olympus (build quality, grip, view finder). Dont you think the view finder is like the engine of a bike.... if the view finder sucks... even the costliest camera is a total waste 
Too bad that D40 does not come as a body only option. I could have chosen something else than the kit lens. Do i have any options to play around in the grey market?Comment

Nothing to worry though, I would advise u to buy it from him and not ebay coz he will open the sealed cam box in front of you, u get to check the camera in real, try a few shots and then go for the deal. Regarding lenses you better talk to him and see if anything works out, by the way he can also give you Nikon India warranty in case you wanted, but it will cost more.
Note :- He only deals with one or two customers at a time, so u got to be patient.
