I have a Sony cybershot S700 7.2MP and 3X optical Zoom bought it 3yrs back. It is good digital camera with all basic features, good for home use like small house parties and also normal outdoor photography. But i wanted something more than that i am not a professional photographer but like photography. now 2months back i bought Nikon L100 10MP and 15X optical zoom. After a lot of research i bought this. my options were Sony(same features but expensive), Canon (same features expensive but still was looking to buy it.) and Fuji (same features, cheaper but was doubtful about camera quality). Atlast i choose to buy Nikon L100, i got it for 13800/-. i don't regret my decision as i liked it after buying and seeing the camera picture quality.
will try to post some photos taken from this camera by today evening.
This is a very good camera for the money spent with maximum features for a good photography.

Guys, i got a new Camera. Its Canon Digital Ixus 110 IS.
It has a Digic 4 Processor

, 12.1 MegaPixels, 28mm Wide 4x Optical Zoom, Scene Detection Technology and supports HD(720p) movies etc.
I got his Camera on exchange scheme from my mom. She wanted to buy a new one for herself. So i offered her my old Canon PowerShot 7.1 MP Cam and got this for me.

I bought the Camera in Dubai. So not sure if the same specs are there in india as well.

i need a good cam for my general family use. i have narrowed down the new sony wx1 . for its ease of use as i have been using sonys as my past three cams. please advise asap as my folks are in dubai for the weekend and can get it from there. my budget is 18k inr.

Guys, I'm planning to buy one Digital Camera. My budget is 10 k.I have zero knowledge about digital camera's.Please give me some suggestions and help me out guys.

Go for panasonic ls85 or LZ10. LZ10: 7000Rs. LS85: 8000Rs.
LS85: 8MP, LZ10: 10 MP cam
Both camera comes with a complimentary 2GB memory card

You need to separately buy rechargable batteries / charger:
GP 2700 Mah X 2 + 4 Battery GP charger = 635 Rs
or
Sanyo 2 Eneloop Batteries + 4 battery charger = 1000 Rs

Both LS85 and LZ10 are great cams. only 33Mp/cm2 & 36Mp/cm2 pixel density.

dont go for canon, The basic canon A480 (i think) is having video 640 x 480 @ 20 fps. So the canon's video output is not fluent.
while the panasonic cams can record videos @ 640 x 480 and @ 848 x 480 @ 30 fps

My friend got a Sony W220 which is a 12.1 MP camera (Rs:14,000) and its slick and slim design. But when we clicked both cameras on a same subject, I can safely say the Sony sucks ! Sony produces lot of grains and the Panasonic is relatively grain free.

Even at ISo 100 / 200, the Sony produces grains (in dull light). If you are still willing to get a Sony cam, try getting a lesser megapixel camera. since budget camera boasts a small sensor when its combined with more megapixels it produces worst image. DSLR camera contains lesser pixels density / cm2 while budget camera is just an opposite to this. But these two panasonics are having very less pixel density

But still I suggest you to get the Panasonic. IF you are having doubt then you can read review from here

Dude I saw the pics in the flicker(insects) and it looks great..Can you please tell me why LZ10: 7000Rs. LS85: 8000Rs eventhough LS85 is only 8MP. I really dont have idea over the camera Megapixel's. Can you please throw some light on that.

Me too puzzled over this. Lz10 is a 1 year old cam while ls85 is relatively new. ls85 boasts Venus processor version 4 (this is the latest processor i think) and stuffs like that....

while lz10 is a 10 mp, it contains mode dial on top and slightly better design too
ls85 is 8 mp, there is no mode dial and curved design.

Ls85 can actually take slightly better pics than lz10 because of the sensor - MP ratio. More megapixels to a small sensor results to grainy images.

ls85 is not readily available while lz10 is even more rare. If you forgot the looks these are some good cams for the money you are paying.

The sony w220 (most sony cams boasts good designs) is slick looking camera while these pans are very big. For me, photo quality is more important than the slim / slick design.

dude for the past 2 days you have been helping out me for finding the correct cam for that price. Actually I have narrow down to 2 cams panasonic ls85 and canon A480 both are great VFM. Both of them are 8k. I checked in the canon site it says (Movies :640 x 480 (30fps/30fps LP) / 320 x 240 (30fps) just for info) . Soon I wl go to their respective showrooms.
