nokia 5530 doesn't have 3G...its really fast when compared to 5800...the main difference is its screen from 3.2 to 2.9 inch...and the battery has been degraded frm Li-Ion 1320 mAh to Li-Ion 1000 mAh......and no secondary cam for video calling....other than tht everything remains same...

omnia i8910 HD is the best Samsung mobile ever made when it was launched...it was made to compete iPhone.the screen size was 3.7inch as compared to iphones 3.5inch screen.....it has got the best capacitive touchscreen [AMOLED touchscreen] on the market,,which is really eye catching..the 8 mpxl camera is damn good..it really does a neat job along with its HD 720p@24fps video capturing capability [DVD Quality]..it carries the same ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz processor with PowerVR SGX graphics accelerator as of iPhone 3GS , Motorola droid and Palm Pre..so these no lag during operating ..u can watch videos with HD resolution with dynamic sound quality....more than tht it supports AVI(DiVX/XviD) videos..
so to de end of the day its really a High End [HD] device with lot of amusing features.

u can consider omnia i8000 hd2 along with N900 , Motorola droid [iPhone contender] & Htc HD2..thy r de latest and powerful devices till date...

I was lucky enough to hold the Omnia HD for some time, and here's what I found:-->

          1. Earphone sound is minutely inferior compared to my INNOV8. It's good overall but Bass is very very low & acoustic elements are ear hurting on high volumes. Subjectively saying its better than N95 though...

          2. Speed is fast, if theme effects are disabled. Menus and inbuilt options open quickly though.

          3. Screen is very good. Most Camera settings are all accessible through touch, and quite less settings are hidden in menus...

          4. Camera is very good in performance and opening, compared to Smartphones. Opens in some 3-4 seconds or so...

          5. Touch is nowhere near iPhone. No drag images, etc. effects ... But, Colors seem very vibrant and real on screen...
I mean, even Black is shown very naturally. Takes some time getting used to though, as initially I though it was a defect.

          6. Movie playback felt exceptionally smooth. The same 30 fps clip on my INNOV8 was playing not so smoothly, as on the HD.
          Plus the bigger screen.

          7. Gallery felt quite slow. Image browsing & zooming could be a lot better.

Overall, I recommend this phone, if you have another alternative for listening to music. Or you listen to music occasionally.

Somehow, its audio quality & price ensures that its not a iPhone Killer or even 5800 killer. But, its a very desirable & near excellent set (in today's times), if music is not on your mind.

If Media is strictly on your mind, and you can forget Symbian and Touch, you can go for W995 for lesser Cash, and excellent music performance...

really man,,,,,there were lot of mobile put forward by HTC, Samsung, LG , Nokia ,BB , Palm & motorola to compete iphone in its performance and UI...but every one failed.....tht last one to compete was HTC HD2 & motorola droid...thy hav advanced features than iphone,,,but the interface and built quality which makes iphone stand out of others....iphone 3GS was named the best smartphone for 2009..its really pleasant using it,,,

            • When one can run only one task at a time, smoothness is a no-brainer. Let's not get into the build quality argument, shall we? Google would give you enough results to refute that claim.

The hypephone is just that. A giant ball of hype. If you want productivity, it's not the best option out there. But if you wanna wow people with shiny scrolly thingies, by all means; go ahead.

It's not even that special here anymore, btw. Every other condescending douche who sports the "Better than you" look has one.

                • Well built handset. The display is made by Sharp,so it should be awesome.
Android 2.0 has finally became a productive OS (Although Exchange support is still sketchy with the OS not playing nicely with high security servers) and can somewhat stand up to Symbian in this regard.

The handset has some bugs as expected on a new product, but Moto seems to be fixing them fast. Wait for 2-3 months before you get one.

multitasking is not a big task dude...u can find Symbian mobiles[no brand wars] doing lot of multitasking,,,but thy hang lik hell,,,u hav to restart thm often..thn what is the use of multitasking....if ur considering iphone[hype phone as u say] as a giant ball of hype thn y was it sold in millions on de day of its launch..r de people illetrate ...people buy it not to show its shiny scrolly thingies,,,but for its amazing quicky user interface and for its apps[ it has an app for everything]..and it was awarded the best smartphone,..just think before commenting,,...sorry for the last comment,,,,

                    • My Symbian phone can run two browsers at the same time (One with multiple tabs), an internet radio station being one of them; calculate a turn-by-turn navigation route AND I can switch to my photogallery for fun if I want to. No lags. 256 MB RAM can go far W.R.T multitasking. Especially if you have handy task manager installed. Things unthinkable on the hypephone.

If you're dishing out the "Millions sold" line, you're just drinking from the Apple can of Kool-Aid. Do some research and see that a lot of phones have sold more units than the iPhone (The N5800 and the Samsung Jet comes to my mind). Apple manages to generate all this hype because they have ONE model. Other manufacturers have a totally different strategy of bringing up the numbers with different models that satisfy different ends of the market. BTW, would you be surprised that with all this hype, Apple still managed to sell less phones in the USA than their Canadian rival, RIM?

The only area where Apple leads the industry is in profitability. They somehow have the blind following that shells out USD1000 for something that cost the company USD200 to make (You're paying more if you lock yourself to a contract). Apple takes the lion's share of this profit, leaving operators who heavily subsidize the iPhone in the red. Check out the financial statements filed by operators such as AT&T and SingTel to see how much subsidizing the iPhone has hurt them.

As for the apps, the majority of them make me laugh. Puhlease. Do you know that almost of the useful apps on the iPhone have counterparts in the WinMo and Symbian world? DO you know that Handango had an appstore for these platforms way before the iTunes store came up? Do you know that one can turn a Symbian or WinMo phone into a wifi hotspot, but the iPhone can't, even with its 100000 apps? How long has it been since the jesusphone learned to copy/ paste and send files over bluetooth? So yeah, think and read up before you repost whatever Apple has let its customers believe, buddy.

As for Awards, Subaru has topped the JD Power survey in USA for years, yet the best selling cars are Camrys or Accords. Shows how much they matter.

I've used more phones than most people would and that includes some that will never see a showroom. I KNOW what can and can't be done on each platform and this is why I refuse to jump on the Apple bandwagon. Hype can fool a lot of people, but not all.
