  • Dropped my Nokia 5800 from my working table. The touch pad went kaput and the display is cracked up inside

Went to Nokia Service showroom and was quoted 6,500 Rs. for repairing it

Now, I dont know if i could even sell this mobile off and get a Nokia 1100

                        • @Andy,
                          Welcome to club bro.
Indeed the best smart phone. Performance/Price ratio is excellent. I've i8910HD with 16GB memory and 8GB MicroSDHC. Been using it for 4 months now. Ok, here are its pros and cons.

                          Pros:
                          1. Best and biggest in class 3.7" Capacitive AMOLED screen. Extremely responsive. Best i've seen yet
                          2. 8MP Camera Sensor with first ever HD 720p Video Recording feature
                          3. Dual Core Cortex A8 600MHz processor with dedicated DSP,ISP and 256MB RAM i.e. Best in class hardware
                          4. Amazing GPS connectivity
                          5. Loud Speaker volumes and ofcourse MP3 playback
                          6. By default H.264,DIVX,XVID,MP4,3GP,RM,WMV playback feature. So, forget converting videos forever! And ohh...did i mention HD playback??
Watching Videos/Movies is a boon on this set. Probably the best PMP available in the market
                          7. Tons of modding and customizing options available
                          8. Descent Call and Signal reception quality
                          9. Awesome gaming device, i.e. dedicated OpenGL 3D onboard Hardware
                          10. Gr8 Wi-fi connectivity
                          11. Full fledged Web browser with script and flash support
                          12. Packs Magnetometer, Accelerometer and Proximity Sensor for optimum functionality
                          13. Factory installed Office and Adobe Reader software package (However, need to purchase license for modifying and creating new documents though.)
                          14. Last but not the least excellent price tag! I bought it for 25K along with B&W.

                          Cons:
                          1. Quite buggy with default Web browser. Random hangs or screen freezing. Installing Opera solves this completely though.
                          2. Most stupid Gallery feature i've ever seen. Displays almost every available image files available on the drive and that too collectively(including mp3 player skins too! ). Absolutely sluggish. Well, this can also be solved by installing 3rd party applications. But still a big disadvantage.
                          3. Media Browser is dreadful! Takes plethora of time to build cache and creates issue while buffering.
                          4. Video player is quite selective with media files listing. Few hiccups while watching mp4 videos in Video Player. H.264 format is very rare to play on the set unless encoded from selective software. RealPlayer on the other hand is capable of playing almost any avi or mp4 videos flawlessly.
                          5. Lack of Kinetic scrolling!
                          6. Its a shame that 720p video recording capture videos with less than 24 fps. Looks fantastic but seems quite laggy and stuttering if there is lots of movements in video. Hope it gets fixed soon with new firmware.
                          7. Limited 3rd party applications and games availability. Blame this totally on Symbian and Samsung though.
                          8. The phone is huge due its screen size. The interface could be a nuisance for some.
                          9. Audio recording is of worst quality i've ever came across. The same affects audio quality while video recording too. Quite bad audio bitrates.
                          10. Random accelerometer issues while incoming calls or interfacing with Menu.
                          11. Now, about Camera, Well...pics quality are amazing. However, you definitely need to be very steady while taking photos. The inbuilt photo stabilizer is there but seems to be almost useless while clicking pics! Loads of options are there. You've to try and play with every possible feature and options to get the best desired result. Takes time though. See, i am gonna be honest. Dont expect typical Nokia camera functionality here. This is more like a Digi-Cam, only you need to be patient and quite firm while taking pics. In often usage, this would create issues for some. As for me, i am getting habitual to it. And quite frankly, the pics from this 8 MP camera comes out to be awesome, if u get used to it. Credits to its HD lens! Another minus point is ofcourse the LED flash. That means almost zero possibility in clicking pics after dawn. The pics quality in low lighting conditions are really pathetic. So, try to avoid shooting in night or better click under suitable lighting situations. See, the phone is basically meant for HD video recording thats why there is LED flash.
                          12. You can't record for more than 30 minutes of continuous HD video.
                          13. Poor Samsung Support!
Again HATE the GAME, dont HATE the PLAYER!

I hope, this helps you best. Good Luck bro..
