I just cant understand one thing, why everybody is asking for kinetic scroll? All over the net everybody is asking for same thing. Is it so important for the phone? You can easily scroll by bar there is no issue at all. You just cant ditch a wonderfully packaged (truely VFM) phone just for kinetic scroll. It may or may not get this feature in future firmware but that doesn't make this phone a bad choice.

No other phone in market with same features available right now. The coming versions of 5800 like 5530 & 5230 have mixed features of 5800. One has wifi & other has GPS. And will cost barely Rs.2000 less than 5800. Now you decide.

          • @jayesh.khushalani, Samarth 619, modifii&others: Thanks for the inputs, I picked up a phone for her day before yesterday. In that price range, the choice was ultimately between the 7210 Supernova&5130 Xpress Music, so I went with the Supernova, due to the form factor. It was purely guess work&she liked it.

You just flick the screen for it to scroll. The faster you flick it, the faster\further it scrolls. Like what the I-Phone has.

I believe with the current 5800 you have to tap or drag the scroll bar to scroll down a list.

A short video showing the kinetic scrolling feature present in the Nokia 5530. Showing kinetic scrolling in contacts, media gallery and music. If you have use...

                    • Getting a N79 for dad

Yest dad's boss called me and said tell your dad to change his mobile phone as he isnt listening to him, i told him that my dad neither uses a camera, no music player not even SMS and he wants a basic phone as his usual work is calling and recieving, he says he doesnt has time for using other features.

When he didnt budge, dad told me to find a bit upper end mobile phone as he currently uses a Nokia 3110C after ruining his N72 a few months back.

I checked blackberry STORM as he liked that model but he has long sightedness so i ruled that out, operating a touchscreen phone isnt his piece of game. Then i told him to go for that model which i had shortlisted for me, N79.
It has nice features and i think at present is an underrated mobile, hope i made a nice choice.

Nokia was a priority as we needed a mobile which could easily connect with our car's Blu N Me and we didnt want to take a chance, also UI of Nokia is simple and phones reliable.

Had the BOSS said that "Beta, you also get a new phone, i would have jumped upon"

There is another way to scroll in 5800, just touch and drag your finger upward or downward. More further your finger will travel more faster the list will move.

                          • Can someone list out the phones which meet the following criterion:

                            - WiFi (must)
                            - A good cam (>=3mp)
                            - GPS (optional)
                            - Price range below 15K (must)
                            - Not Chinese/IMEI-less, only recognised brands.
From variable Bhps to a constant 17.6 Bhp.
