wave s8500, optimus1, are great phones in their price range dude, but since u want video calling that badly only options r x6,c6 ane some e series. and c6 is not that bad,it looks nice and also have similar hw to 97mini. Its like a budget 97mini. If theres any problems like hanging,slowing down etc. Its probably due to some errors in software. A firmware update will take care of this problem.
@happybiking : x6 have a capacitive display not a resistive.
Also stay away from brands like micromax,onida,videocon,lava,carbon,maxx etc. Coz all of their models are just rebranded cheep ass chinees phones.(including micromaxs andro !) . And S.A.R ratings of these phones are off the charts. U really dont want to put these things in ur pocket.

If you have a budget of 15k.. please please buy a LG Optimus One P500. Google it and you will know why I recommend this for any buyer with a budget of all the way up to 17k even though the thing sells for like <12k.

btw, how is the maps feature on the C6? I'm yet to operate & see one due to lack of availability of stock here in B'lore.
The only feel of the cell phone I have is the dummy available in almost all stores, & the videos on YouTube.

Thanks! I think I will decide between these 2 Nokias, but the C6 has me more interested.

Also: I own a Wave S8500. You wont find one to buy because Samsung a'int making any. It is damn good.. but isn't made. Other option is a Nokia N8 (Costs 21 odd) but if you dont bring UI into consideration, it is very very good.

Thats way above my budget (I personally don't think its worth spending over 15k on a cell phone).

Am not sure if you saw the solution actually work first-hand or just commented. The Nokia guy Latios did mention of the fix available but the phone still continues to bug people.

@ Tibby : I used the GPS feature of N97mini and was pretty good. Seems, your heart's set on Nokia C6. Then look no further. The kind of feature it provides at that price tag is unmatchable.

P.S : I myself waited for this fone for 6 months and almost ended up buying it. But thanks to NOKIA forum, got the warning beforehand.God bless Internet

No man, i dont use a c6. Generally these kind of issues are associated with software bugs so.
Yes ur right, nokia forum do have a lot of users complaining about c6 freezing. Give it a little time im sure nokia will come up with a solution. Hey, afterall its a nokia rite?.

Lol...seriously...they sure are going down...guess the spur created by Android unsettled them BIGTIME and hence they are committing these blunders(ref: Nokia C6)...

Yes, I've also heard Symbian is going to update its Version 3 in a big way by March, that will give N8 the QWERTY option in portait mode too,&some other changes.
I guess that is the reason the E7 was delayed (I lost out in the bargain). They are saying it will come with a 'better user experience'!

I'm finally going for the N8 as of now, though a 32GB version is also expected soon. Tired of waiting. Should have it in a week's time.

Going down? I dont think so, only thing nokia lacking is a new os(now). But theres 'meego' and completely overhauled symbian3 coming this yr. And what about this Nokia Microsoft considering Windows Phone 7 devices.

whats the point ? it'd still be symbian

the symbian era is over. its the iOS/android era now. even WP7 would be better than symbian

Agreed, symbian era is almost over. But this update we are talking about is a BIG DEAL for existing symbian3 users, So. And its not just a 'bug fix' like update. There will be changes in UI too.(hopefully better changes)
