Try google maps app(i belive gmaps comes pre loaded with it) . Gps is automatically turned on when u use a map/navigation app.
But if this is the first time u r using gps on this phone, it may take little while to (5-8min) get a gps lock. And try to stay under clearsky for faster gps positioning.

Well its my first mobile with a gps so am a noob about it. Earlier i used normal basic phones with normal basic multimedia features so can you explain the term "GPS lock". I have once tried to find my position from my home (Which is in the 1 floor of an 8 floor apartment) & been unnsuccessful in doing so.

To determine your position ur phone needs to establish a connection between satellite and phone.this process is called a satellite lock(gps lock). Once it acquires the lock ,the data recieved from satellites is translated into coordinates of ur location. But it will take some time to get a gps lock coz gps modules in phones are not that powerfull like a dedicated gps navigation system. Its almost imposibble when ur inside home, stay in an open space for faster gps lock. And im not sure why but first time it will always take a bit more time, after that it ll perform much faster.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

                    • The O1 comes with a higher capacity battery, faster processor, double RAM, preinstalled GPS Turn-by-Turn voice guided navigation software (which costs 2.5k to buy). The only thing going for Wildfire on the other hand is the higher 5mpix camera w.r.t. 3.2 for the O1.

Also, LG has promised Gingerbread (Android 2.3) for O1. No such announcement for Wildfire as of now.

And the display used in the Wildfire is nothing to write home about. The P500 is a better phone anyday. And if you have anyone in the UK, get the ZTE Blade aka Orange San Francisco. Will cost under 10k but is an awesome phone for the money

That coupon code was not working for both me(in India) and my bro (in US)..
