the problem is that in the application manager, the phone shows the softwares that are newly installed as only 5 mb so the problem is that where is the rest of 25 mb gone???

i suspect an virus infection also.. hence i wanted to format the cell.. the problem with update software is that the old data is stil there.. so its not helping my cause of regaining the lost space

try to clear all ur messages.. inbox,,send items..and saved messages.check in gallery too whetr u have saved any music or video files in phone memory or not.then go to file-manager and check ur phone memory details,,and see which part has consumed more space...
try to backup all de datas and format it,,,or update it,,,that can solve ur problem any day..

Hey dude...i think galaxy S is better...i am havin 1...its awesome..u can choose between Desire nd Galaxy...milestone is bit old nd u know abt motorola's market condition in India...so if u want a camera with flash nd ready for not havin a video call with wi fi in ur phone then go for Desire but b ready to suffer abt the battery part of it...nd if u want a Super AMOLED display nd 16 GB of storage but with flash(v all don't use camera much in totally dark places nd even if taken with it,it is pretty decent)....nd battery stays for abt 12-14 hrs with medium usage of wi fi nd gamin....so i feel u should go for Galaxy S....nd Droid X will take more time as the milestone has been launched hardly 2-3 months back..

I guess he has the Nokia 5230
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

                      Great!
The Nokia 5230 runs on Symbian OS 9.4 i.e s60v5.
Steps to hard format the phone>
1>Format the memory card, using the filemanager(look in office or tools folder)
note that you can surely take a backup of your media files(strictly media files, system files should not be included in the backup)

                      2>Now switch off the device.

                      3>Now PRESS AND HOLD-
green button+red button+camera key and switch on the phone using the power on button located at the top.
Note>do not leave those 3 buttons while switching on, you have to keep them pressed all the way long.

If you did that successfully then the country selection screen will appear and now you have the phone like new(software wise only).

Regarding automatic installation of softwares there is an app called "AutoSisInstaller" but i guess it requires your phone to be hacked, to hack your phone(hacking allows to run unsigned code on your phone) head over to google and search for "nokia 5230 hack ipmart helloOX tutorial".

NOTE: THIS IS A GENERALIZED PROCEDURE FOR ALMOST ALL OF THE S60V5 DEVICES.

By the way your phone connecting to the internet again and again automatically could be because of>

*email client running in the background.

*some phone tracking app periodically updating phone's location on the internet(eg. Periodic Phonelocator).

Further queries accepted with full delight.

                        • guys am looking for a mobile under 20k(budget is flexible if anything worth for it)..earlier i was about to buy Samsung wave but it got discontinued & now am not liking 3.7" super clear LCD screen of waveII
main things i am looking for r
                          - good camera with HD recording(30fps or 25fps won't make much difference)
                          - camera must have a good flash..xenon is preferable but a good LED will also do my job.
                          - all connectivity features like Wi-Fi, 3G, bluetooth 3.0 & all, which i think is present in almost all handsets of that range.
                          - I wanted SuperAMOLED but now i think i'll have to settle for AMOLED screen.
                          - preferable OS is Android..if not then any other OS with good app support.

As of now I am thinking of buying Nokia N8 but its screen isn't as good as earlier wave n also i don't know how good Nokia's new symbian is though am really impressed from its cam..also i haven't seen new wave in flesh so am still keeping it as an option..suggest me among or apart from these handsets near by my budget..

                            Samsung Focus !!
you'd get the awesome SuperAMOLED screen and all other features you've mentioned. (bluetooth 2.1 though)
Its not android, but the promising Windows Phone 7. It might have a couple of bugs as the OS is new but would be fixed with an update.

my bad. seems it hasn't been launched in india yet. although i saw in some site that it has been launched in early november but it din mention the cost. In US it costs 200$ but with a 2 year connection. So its expected to cost around 500$.
