It's worth buying. Everything from video, image to music quality is as good as could be expected from Samsung...

About Apps, don't worry. Samsung's App store has even more apps now, and for your set you can get:-

Opera Mini,
Adobe Reader,
Some kind of zipping utility,
Youtube video downloader, etc.
and so on..

You see, every company's response to a platform can be easily judged. Samsung is releasing more & more Bada phones... like Wave 723, etc.
The conclusion? Bada is here to stay!

BADA sucks big time. not much room for development and shit.
The near future will be Android vs iOS vs WP7

Completely agree with you.Recently sold my wave for the same reason.Hardware is superb but the BadaOS cripples the phone.

help me choose a phone

iam in a big confusion here. Iam a total novice when it comes to cell phones. I have been living happily with my sony W810i for the past 4 yrs until I got engaged. My fiancee has a samsung monte and she has been forcing me ever since to get a touch phone with 3G video call facility (I hate this , gals always have to spy on us ).well now problem is that i have found some nice bargains on helmets and some riding gears and now she has put her foot down, -either buy the phone first or nothing at all . tried all sort of thing but she wouldnt budge, also tried pretending that i will throw away the engagement ring but alas i almost got kicked out of the house( everyone supports her even my friends they say-tu bachcha nahi raha, 6 hajar ka helmet leke tu kya karega, jab tumhare bachche honge tu unko bhi kapde ki jagah helmet pehnana. so finally in desperation started looking for touch phone with 3G video call facility. however i got as confused as a frog would be in a desert.somehow i managed to zero in on 2 phones:

1) HTC smart- i feel its vfm (i was quoted 6.9 for this one)

2) samsung wave 5253 ( not the new wave model)- seems like a good phone but Iam confused with the 3G bit , some websites list it as 3G phone while some other says it not ,so confused with this one )- quoted 7.5k for this one

here are my requirements:

1) budget:
though her budget is 16K i dont want to spend more than 10k so that atleast i can buy the helmet before the sale goes off.

2) must haves
a) 3G facility for video call , bluetooth
b) decent camera
c) good/great music player ( should be better than w810i- now guys pls dnt laugh at this, i know i am talking about an antique piece)
d) iam not a heavy mobile internet user, infact iam not going to use it at all. i dont check , mails or orkut, facebook, twitter . i planned to use gps but learned that it requires a net connection so dumped the idea. my bikes speedo is good enough i guess.

e) it should have a touch screen, and it cannot be samsung monte.
f) it should be reliable and should have a decent battery life (backup).

3) any other mobile at this price point with all these features?

4) i heard about the new samsung wave with 5mp camera but going by my limited use do you suggest this one, coz anyway iam planning to buy a pocket HD camcorder for recording my ride videos ( i will not buy the camcorder if the video output of wave is on par with HD pocket camcorder eg: kodak Zi8 which retails for around 9k and instead will buy the wave).
and how much is the current cost of the samsung wave 8500( or something , i dont know the exact no.)

finally in a nutshell - i need a 3G video call touch phone which is reliable ,has a decent camera,good/great music player, and preferably below 10k.
well my question is should i go for HTC smart considering my requirements? or should i go for the samsung wave 5253 Provided it has a 3G(video call) connectivity (you guys need to help me confirm this) or go all the way and buy samsung wave the new one instead of a HD pocket camcorder.
actually by this iam trying to know which is a good option considering my use- HTC smart + HD pocket camcorder or just the samsung wave.hope you people will help me with this.

thanks

Hey guys help me,
I am using nokia 5800xm from last one year and now fed up from it,
suggest me any good phone around Rs.15k, is there are any android phones available in that range, pls let me know.

You can look at Samsung Galaxy 3.

Thanks! Will definately buy Wave S8500

The only Samsung Wave with a videocall camera is the S8500. It is very hard to find(as it has been discontinued) and the pricing is around 17k.

HTC Smart doesn't have a video call camera.

As per your requirements, you need a touch phone with 3g, video calling, decent music player.

So.. as per my search, the best one for you IS the Samsung Wave S8500, budget no bar, availability allowing.

Phone Finder results - GSMArena.com

This particular list meets your requirement. Corby PRO could be a good buy. The qwerty always helps. It could kick-start your FB / Twitter + surfing on the phone.

Samsung Jet is actually the predecessor of the Wave S8500. It goes extremely cheap these days. Very good phone. I have kept the budget < EUR 200 looking at your budget.

Another suggestion can be a Nokia N79. That is, if you can ditch the touchscreen requirement.

Nice phone without Camera

Guys need a nice without camera phone. They dont allow phones which have camera in office.
Any suggestion?

The iPhone is probably the only phone which gives better sound quality than the walkman phones.

Xperia X10 Mini.
only problem - Screen size
