Samsung had the famous emmc brick bug if u remember, I myself had a galaxy nexus, excellent phone but dead now(because of the same bug).
And HTC and its build issues are long. So let's give our opinion in a constructive way and not write off a company.

I just said what i think.
Ya, it was replaced under warranty, but still.
I have had good experiences with HTC and samsung, so thats my view. Else one can buy what he likes.

No offence meant. HTC management is degrading, their pricing is way too high(IMO). I just want to be neutral as others may be influenced wholly on single post. (ex. Tvs stock tyres are very good in dry conditions but it just spread that they are not good at all)

So far I have seen 3 people with xperia z1, me n my 2 friends.
I have got to face black screen issue twice and one of my friends got it once. The device got overheated while using camera and the camera was shut down itself, it didn't start again and i got a replacement within a week. Third issue i noticed was the device kept on getting slower with time. Some minor lags were noticeable in the UI. While playing graphic intensive games, the phone was overheated again and that was the last time I used it(again black screen). Now the device is dead and i didn't have any time to go to there crappy svc and waste my time. Also, the kinetic scrolling feature was too bad, everytime while browsing the screen zoomed in and out and using the browser was not a very good experience.! :banghead:

Ya may be you have experienced good service by sony. But the point is, why the hell we are going to the svc after spending 40k bucks. Aren't we supposed to get premium devices? IMO sony is good for gaming consoles and televisions only, smartphones are not spny's cup of tea. I have used many devices and in a day or two i 'll be getting a note 3 as well(fingers crossed) ,i don't know the locations of samsung nokia or lg svc, thats what quality is buddy. If i am spending an hour at the svc after buying the best of sony, then its better to buy a mmx. And no offences brother, its my opinion.

Since the discussion is about Sony phones, let me put forward my experience about Sony NEO V.

The phone was working fine initially. But, as time passed, the phone started aging. The scrolling started lagging big time. Phone would heat up while charging, calling, using internet. The battery went kaput in just 1.2 yrs of usage. Also, the USB pin (used for charging also) went kaput. Have to use the Samsung USB cord now.

                  Only few niggles

                  Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Hmm... I have both the Z Ultra and the Z1. First Sony smartphones purchased by me. Both of them are very good and the absolute best, I believe. The ZU got dead in 10 days, so I got it replaced. Other than that minor niggle, both the devices are working very well. Butter smooth and very stable indeed. Not even a single random reboot or force close. And they're water resistant. However, tiny niggles like some ghost touching in the ZU when the screen is wet prevents it from being, well, perfect.

Samsung, I feel, is not worth the money. Plastic body, lagging performance, over saturated AMOLED displays plus the sheer amount of bloat puts me off. Add the fact that they don't support Open Source in the way they're supposed to, I won't be buying a Samsung phone again. And this is coming from a Note1 (busted this monsoon, due to rains ) and a Note3 (exchanged for Z1 after using for a week or so) user.

HTC is the Apple of android phones. They makes very good smartphones, no doubt about it. However, they charge a premium pricing. The premium doesn't justify the device we get, IMO. Screen, speakers, UI, performance - everything is good. The pricing is the only downside. Case in point, the recently released HTC One Max. I briefly considered buying it. But they're charging 50k+ for what? A S600, build quality that's a downgrade from the One, a worse camera, and a gimmicky fingerprint scanner? No, thank you HTC, but I won't be buying the second best thing for 50k.

LG has great screens, cameras, performance...... and that's it. UI is horrible, button placement is stupid and build quality is Samsung.

The Indian companies aren't even worth talking about as they don't give this kind of performance. In fact, they don't give any kind of performance at all.

And we come to Apple. Premium devices with premium pricing. Great apps selection, great screen, great speakers, great everything! And even great Service Centres . The price, its the only weak area, but if you can afford it and can deal with the small screen, go for it! I'll be jumping ship as soon as they manage a 5.5" display, at least. Preferably 6".

Okay, that about covers almost all the major players, have I forgotten anyone else?

                        Oh yeah, Nokia!
Great build quality, great cameras, very good displays. However, the OS is a drawback. Very VFM for the low to mid range models. But without any qualms if you're looking for a great camera, and very little customization. UI is extremely simple and no clutter at all.

Hmm.... First of all, are you saying z1 is way way better than samsungs?. all that coming from a Note 1? Don't tell me about note 3. Its performance is just far far far far far better than all the apples, HTC, n sony. Its the best device in the market at this point of time.IPhone has got thw worst UI, its super boring and freakin useless. Apple is for those who want a presentable handset when they show it in public, sony is useless, nokia has got too too too good UI for people who just use their device for social networking and calling . You wrote that samsungs have got poor build quality with laggy UI, if you are telling this about note 1 then FYI a dual core handset with 1gb ram can't be lagfree, other than that, 2011 was a different era ,that time was totally different. Tell me a device from sony htc ,etc which had got these features in 2011. And if you are saying that note 3 is laggy, then my friend, sorry to say, you have not used or even seen that device. And coming to thw build quality, show me any premium from samsung with poor plastics,i'll throw my samsungs from burj-al-arab....! Also my xperia's screen got cracked when it felled from my pocket, but my iphone keeps on falling, its in perfect condition!

Read my post again mate, I did own the Note3 for a week. To believe me or not is your prerogative, after having sold it off, I have no proof of ownership. And I never stated that the Note 1 was laggy, I said Samsung phones are laggy. That includes all of Samsung phones, down from the Galaxy Y's to the Notes. As for the build quality, I don't understand your statement so just go ahead and throw it out.
And no, the Exynos Octa is in no way a match for the S800 used by the Z1. If you want proof, just compare the synthetic benchmarks from the S800 used the European Note3 vs the Exynos ones. 8 Plus, the graphics module used in the Note3 (PowerVR something, I think) doesn't support the latest openGL when it was released and can't be updated to support it.
The breaking of a screen depends upon many factors - height, materials, point of contact etcetera.. No conclusion can be made from your statement.

Obviously, octas would be better than quad cores, but i totally disagree to the statement you made regarding samsung. Idk about note 3 bcs my bro is using it and i gonna get it in few days, but after using note2 and s4 , i want you to know that these devices are not lagging even if i try to do so, i switched on both the devices for the first time in 4 months ,they booted quickly and are fully functional along with the performance i had in the new handsets. May be you got a defective device or it was a software error which can be easily rectified and removed by samsung, even nexus 5 had lagging issues with 4.4.0 but google rectified the issue. And regarding qualityof hardware, i wanna say that ,it is not as good as apple , but it is better than all the sony's

                                Please read :

According to developer AndreiLux, a poor implementation of the big.LITTLE driver means that a maximum of four of the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa’s cores are actually operational.
