This is the catch. Windows OS doesn't needs loads of hardware to run lag free like android. It is butter smooth even on only 512mb of ram. But 1gb is better than 512mb in terms of app and games compatibility.
As for android, only buy hig end sets if you want lag free phone.

Thanks bro, by high end phones you might be meaning the phones costing more than 30k. Don't want to spend that much. My budget is max 20k. So my shortlisted ones are ether Lumia 720 or 625(windows) or Sony experia C or Lenovo P780(android).

Not necessary; you get a very good smart phones less than 20K, that includes the slightly overpriced Sony as well

Superb choice. Go to Snapdeal, you get the lowest price in the country. P780 offers 43 hours of talk time on 4000mAh battery with almost everything that you need; I found it's the most VFM phone compared to any other competitor in the market

Edit - Or check out Lenovo S820; colleague of mine bought, it's very slim & fits good on pocket, 2K lesser than P780. His experience on life of battery was, "After unpacking he didn't charge it, but spoke for 2 hours & the charge with stands even after 37+ hours"

Yes, i meant latest phones with higher number of cores and ram. Android is really heavy. Even on 1GB of ram, it still lags (I have a sony xperia P and it sometimes lags like hell).
From Lumia 720 and 625, 720 is the best.
I haven't used lenovo phones, so can't comment. And Xperia C, its a quad-core device. It should be able to handle most without lag.

I haven't used lenovo phones, so can't comment. And Xperia C, its a quad-core device. It should be able to handle most without lag.

I am using Lumia 720 and Samsung Galaxy S2. Lumia is really great and probably one of the best business phone available now. Even the camera of Lumia though 6.7 MP is far better than S2 which is 8MP.

I can tell you all about windows phones only, 512 MB RAM is more then enough for windows OS to run almost everything smoothly, main difference between 720 & 625 is camera and screen size, simply if you need a phone with best low light camera in the segment and a super sleek, light weight device 720 is go for you and other hand if you need a big screen while can manage with normal camera quality then 625 is go for you, almost else everything is same in both.

Battery life is great in both device you can manage every single app to consume battery on the other hand I really like the full black screen of 720 its very-very resistive to almost anything, I am using it from last six months now without any screen guard and you cant even find a single scratch (will show you some day at Dhaba...

).

Let me tell you the drop back of windows if you need almost every app or games same day in your phone then you will have to wait for some time in case of windows and there are some option missing in windows, it does not support everything as like android.

A quick tip for less lag, restart the mobile every 2 days. The heavy apps, date connection takes quite a memory space and they start eating up the ram by keeping their cache. Restating helps in removing that and somewhat I have found it helpful.

Bro, there is no legging problem in windows, yes it require a restart in a week or so (personal experience) and I observe that you cant scroll down more than 4-5 page in whats app, what about in android...?

I generally switch off my phone in thw night and start in the morning. So, my phone is restarted everyday

. I guess my RAM is about 16-20% free, so this might cause severe lag.

I was able to view 3 days old chats also. So, i was able to view more than 4-5 pages whatsapp chats easily.

Lagging what's that. . ? I have also been using Lumia 720, needed a phone for photography and within 20k, this was the one I found it the best compared to others. . . There is no such thing as lagging and the phone is really smooth, . . Again if you are wanting to go for a Lumia 720, go with eyes closed, I preferred it over 625 and Xperia L and I can say I'm really happy with this now

EDIT: For battery backup, put it in battery saver mode all the time if you use it extensively, else like I do put it to turn on battery saver when it has less charge, i.e., 20% remaining, will come for a day without any problem. . .

Hello Windows phone users,
Has anyone faced a similar issue with the phone, and rectified it?
My sis has a Lumia 620, her friend had transfered a .mkv file of 1.2GB via Bluetooth (yeah, crazy i know), which got saved in the phone memory. Now the .mkv file is not detected, and i am unable to find the file.
Tried googling for a solution, tried clearing the "temp" folder, but still the same issue. Plugged in the phone to computer, but wasn't able to find the file. The file has taken up 1.2gb of phone memory, and i am not able to free that up.
Any suggestions?

I have not faced this but faced other kind of similar problems like downloaded files and I can't find that file anywhere, neither can I see where it is. . . Surely, would check out Lenovo if androids come ito picture. I have personally seen a freind using K900 from Lenovo, the cam, the resoution is brilliant.

I found the only difference in Lumia 720 and 625 is that of screenn size and cam. That what the confusion is all about...bigger screen or better cam

Also using clean master to clear cache of various apps all just by a click helps your android run smoother! And yeah you need to restart phone at least once in two days like how the other member mentioned. Although I do it once everyday!
