        • Guys, I bought myself a HTC P3300 GPS PDA for a yummy Rs 7995/- from Chroma.

It was a discontinued model and was their last piece. Couldn't resist a Windows mobile with GPS or 8K with 5% cash back on master card

Though money was tight, I decided to sell off my 1.5 yr old Nokia 5610D XpressMusic and Sony Ericsson K850i (5MP Cyber Shot) and guess I can pool at least 8K by selling these two

Now looking for a good Firewall & AV software for my PPC. The one from MyLookOut.com is not able to connect to the internet from my phone for registering itself - though every other application I tried is able to connect to the net!

I just checked Samsung corby pro (actually it was a dummy they had the actual piece in box ) in the samsung mobile shop their price was Rs. 12200.
Here is a link containing ifo about it :

For the price its features are too good I am thinking of buying it, is there any other phone in the same range ( range means <14K) with similar or better features?
what is you guys take on it ?

I think Nokia 5800 XpressMusic beats this Corby with almost same price (only Rs.500-600 more). Only you have to compromise on hardware keypad, but you get power of Symbian + better specs sheet with 5800.

Actually the main thing I liked about the corby pro is the sliding qwerty keyboard
My friend has nokia 5800 but he said the mobile is very slow and also i am fed up with the old interface of nokia, once upon a time it was easy to use but now it is plain boring
I can increase my budget to 18K if there is any android mobile with gps and wifi and qwerty keyboard within that amount

There is an Android device available in India i.e. HTC A3232 Tatoo, priced around Rs.16000/-. But this device is not advisable because of its poor (read odd) display size (in terms of Android platform) and rare application availability.

I think there is no device with hardware qwerty keypad and GPS within 18k, you can try Samsung B7610 Omnia Pro which is a Winmo 6.1 with very rich specs sheet but costs around 21k. Whatever you buy, just make sure that phone is smartphone. I mean it should be Symbian/Winmo/Android based.

But i still prefer Nokia 5800 as its the best VFM package.

Ya I also read reviews of tattoo, it is not that good (for that price aleast, if it was around 10k then things might have been different)
Omnia pro is out of my range as for now
guess I will have to wait some months for the prices to go down or my funds to grow
Nokia 5800 is VFM as you said but I find it very slow and plasticky and most of all the reason for not buying it is that my friend bought it a year earlier and I will be damned if I buy the same mobile model now

No Major issues, But some how i am not satisfied with this phone other than the sound quality in earphones. recently it went to service centre as the upper keypad buttons are not wrking. He updated the software and it started working. Also the screen brightness is too low.

A bad choice by me.. Anyways i am going to buy N79
