Mate I would suggest a Nokia 5310 @ 7k. Hope your girl would like it. Or else if she likes big phones then you can get a e63 @ 10500.

Now my budget has come down to 5-6K, so I'm considering the 5130. Will check out some more in a couple of weeks' time.

E series would be professional. I'm looking for an entertainment type phone, average cam-2 mp&music with card 1 GB also fine.

Corby Pro has slide out physical qwerty keypad and touchscreen (resistive) as well. Has 3.5mm audio jack, GPS, 3G, Fixed Focus 3.2MP but no accelerometer. Samsung B5310 CorbyPRO - Full phone specifications

Corby Txt is non touchscreen and full physical qwerty keypad (E63 type). has 2MP, 3.5mm jack. This will be cheaper than present Corby. Samsung B3210 CorbyTXT - Full phone specifications

But both these (Pro & Txt) are not available in India yet.

Yes, Samsung i8910 is damn good set! It's specially great for watching movies! Also, it has an operating system + an 8 MP Cam + 720p video recording ...

Main problem is with Audio -- Sketchy frequency response and VERY Less Bass... But its good for normal listening.
Some other problems are no lens cover, ineffective flash, 8MP images browsing is slow.
                    Other things are great!

Overall at 28000 INR, its a great buy for the present & future both, provided you find the disadvantages acceptable...

@ sarvjit: 5130 has no flash, but its good enough for daytime ...
                    --

@ inder.cool: Bro, in the latest international phones, Samsung D980 has a 5 MP Cam and various other features!
Also in the line are D880 and the candybar D780 ...

But you have to tell me the features you need, if I have to suggest exact and appropriate ... What other features you looking for?

Then which CORBY Is available in India??
Whts the price and is there ''3.5mm'' headphone adapter in it?
Reason for dying on the universal adapter is that, I can switch to my own personal hd..I can connect it to my Car.,I can connect it to my Music system and I can connect it to my bathroom fitted mp3 system..and take bath or do watewer in there listening to music!!!

                      Currently Im having a N95 8GB 08
Which is now too old and slow for me so am opting to sell it..
Waiting for the flagship ''Nokia N900'' which is no way coming sooner to India, it'll take some good waiting months at least..so in between wanted a cheap cell in 8K Rs which can give a diffrent feel from the N-series or I-phone but holds compratively good features in the box...

You might get red in delhi but there is no blue available anywhere in India. Very easy to use and despite years of using 'normal' phones, I cant get enough of the great qwerty keypad. The only competition is from the Samsung B7320 which I checked out but didnt really like. And its more expensive.
thats not the issue for me as i was thinking of getting it in black only
                        whats the price of b7320??
and should i wait for 5530 or take this???

                        • I have been using a Motorola MotoRazr 2 V8 2Gb now for the last two years and it has served me quite well. Unlimited falls and the mobile managed to take it all, thanks to a chemically hardened front LCD glass and all metal body removing misconceptions that the phone is very fragile because its very sleek.

No problems at all till now. Only the battery has given up now after 2 years.
Planning to change to Nokia N 79 now by next year.
The amount of customisation one can do to a Nokia symbian is impossible for any other brand.

N79 is good, I got it last month. Yet to use the GPS on it, but imaging, music etc.is very good. Best thing I like is the FM transmitter function!

Have you ever used a sony ericsson ?
Nokia dont allow customization. with nokia only you can install fonts, themes and softwares (symbian & java apps) thats all.

With Sony Ericsson you can change the Phone's Firmware (ex: cybershot to Walkman firmware....K550 to W610i), you can change Camera's firmware, install Megabass preset to a Cybershot phone, elfs, fonts, walkman player skins and more....
