was reading up about GPS and AGPS, AGPS has a `track` time of upto 12.5min as they solely rely on satellite service , but the advantage being that if stuck in `No Service ` area you can still find your way, recent examples , was driving out of Hyderabad, on the Telengana Band day , and thanks to my friends iPhone we were able to `sneak around` the blockades on the main highways, and recently was on my way to Mumbai , and was stuck outside Pune, and my stupid phone had ` No active service could be found, please try again !!!`.....
The iPhone has an uncanny ability to locate you , my old 2G model doesn't have gps / agps at all , yet it usually locates me faster and more accurately than my samsung galaxy-pop which has modern agps .

    • What do you mean? Proper A-GPS is both tower and/or satellite based, depending on what's available.

My N8 can use anything- internal GPS, external Bluetooth GPS, etc. and any network- 2G, 3G, Wifi, etc... And using any or all of these resources, it manages to lock on to a good GPS Signal.

Signal Strength is strong and it works inside closed cars too.[/QUOTE]y

by proper aGPS i ment what you understood ie weather a system depends only on satellite based GPS or also uses tower/network to track you.

        Without doubt .
It's missing too many features ... it doesn't have an fm radio .. you can't use it as a portable drive ( no usb-storage) , can't even play mp3 directly LOL . But the features it does have .. just works .... like no other device can .

        • GP Freak - not the defy then. I own one. its awesome but has rather high SAR.

Others debating AGPS - the cool thing is that there are hacks on android to REALLY speed up your AGPS. Think of stationary 30s (and often lesser) locks. [Jul.10.2011 HD2 w/AGPS SUPPORT!] Instantaneous GPS Fixation v1.2 US & INTERNATIONAL! - xda-developers - needs CWM to install though.

Defy was not for my dad. I was simply looking for a phone with the lowest SAR rating within 5~7 k budget( no touch screen or qwerty )

Defy was suggested for my friend ;-)

@ ALL - I Lost my SGS2 headset. How much does an Original head set for SGS2 cost ?

The insides should be mostly the same. i think the same exynos processor has been over clocked .

So its simple, if i can carry it around, i might chuck my SGS2

Ok ok. i need to eat my words now. I never knew that it costs in the region of 45~50 k. Not worried about the .3 Ghz bump. SGS2 can be clocked to that frequency.

Only thing which makes me drool is the screen. Its going to be a real eye candy stuff

ya man..the pixel density is 2 times more than sgs2.. but heck 4.3 is enough for me man..cant even operate it with one hand sometimes.

PS:am waiting for the official release of 2000mah samsung battery for gs2... it would come with a backplate too as the battery is 1.2mm thicker..
