I'm aware that it does not support 720p HD video recording.
However, a front cam is necessary for me&Android seems to be the only platform other than iOS that will help me to send&receive work mails in Japanese.
So please provide me your inputs on this, I will be going for it as soon as I get the next salary.
+1 to the bold part... Only English and Korean support on my Wave 1.. So Wave 2 is a no-go. (But the XDA community is taking giant strides as we speak towards porting Gingerbread on both these awesome devices)

The other options that might fit your budget and requirements:

Samsung I9003 Galaxy SL - Full phone specifications
LG Optimus Black P970 - Full phone specifications

You are chasing the Ghost, arent you

SGS2 is the Best phone thought it has a lil banding issue with the screen. Its pure functionality nirvana.

@All - I had referred LG's Optimus 2X and Optimus Black phones, but for some reason i had got a lot of feedback from my friends that they hang a lot. So i am pulling Lg out of my referral list. I am sorry if some one had bought it based on my feedback.

But i still backup SGS1, SGSL and SGS2. Game on.

@Sarvajit - I am amazed by your self control to keep away from SSG2 even after using it for some time. SGS1 is pretty good after you root it. powerful than SGSL, but no front cam.Your best bet at the moment will be SGSL(i9003). Or if you choose to wait, you might get your hands on SGS1plus which might be a 1.4 Ghz single core procy(again its chasing ghost. But i did that successfully for 8 months to lay my hands on the SGS2)

      Your call

There is no doubt about this. The Sensation from HTC is more of a catch up attempt at dual cores.

I read their reviews too. Though the specs seem bright on paper, the real world performance is sluggish&the phones don't have quality materials so to speak of. Camera performance also below expected.

But i still backup SGS1, SGSL and SGS2. Game on.
            SGS2-Out of budget.
SGSL-No flash/af for rear cam. Old common model.

I heard that phone is called S2 Mini. I already mentioned above why I'm not choosing SGSL. From 14, 15, my budget has reached&capped at 20K now.
Still awaiting your inputs about Nexus S.

Edit: Okay, Google'd it and found out that some localised versions and variants of the Galaxy S don't have front cameras but the international versions have it. So that makes mine an international version.

Just to ensure there is no problem with hardware, do a factory data reset. Go to settings>privacy>factory data reset.

The phone will delete everything and get back to factory settings. then if u want a faster and better firmware upgrade to darkys rom.

                      • Ok guys, agreed that the SGS1/SGSL have front cams!

Now will someone please tell me about the Nexus S? I will not mention the pros, everyone knows them anyway.
As of now, the drawbacks I can find are:
                        1. No dedicated video player (can be downloaded)
                        2. No DivX/XVid support out of the box (can be downloaded)
                        3. No dedicated camera button
                        4. No 720p HD video recording (may be fixed with next update)
                        5. No FM radio
                        6. No expandable memory (comes with 16GB on board)
                        7. No HSDPA support

Would appreciate if anyone using the phone can give me their review.

Also, I have come across this website called Amzer offering accessories. I saw a mirror type screen protector. Shall I go for it? I heard someone saying that this reduces visibility in sunlight, but I have seen my iPhone friends using it happily.
                        Please comment on this too.

                        • Oh Yesssssss!!! Finally I got the phone I wanted. Been using all sorts of phone. They are all pretty cool with loads of features, but something they always lack is the ease of speaking on the phone in all situations. So I was looking for a flip phone big enough for the ear and mouth piece to reach comfortably from my ear to my mouth with big buttons. I had to order one as no one seems to sell them these days. And so without further ado ...tada...the Samsung Metro s3600. Its so basic compare to my older phones, but, it does one thing better.. make and receive calls. oh joy! .

I too have the Mirror type screen protector on my iPhone. It sure looks wow but in broad daylight, the visibility takes a hit. And sometimes people watching a video with you might have issues as it reduces the viewing angle as well.

                            I love it...

Buddy, got your PM, but unfortunately i was not able to reply. N1 is a good phone and all around phone. But i have never bother to look about it because it was overly priced and had a normal functionality. Let me put some time on it.

But, SGS is a better bet with custom firmware/Rom. Hell with the flash. how many times are you going to use flash ? i hardly use it.

Its been around an year since it was available, but hell, it does the job better than many other phones out here. Its faster than N1.
Reg Mirror type screen protectors, its all bling which hampers the functionality of the phone. Like upgrading tyres in R15
