  • Your Initial Reaction about xBhp resurrected

The home page message may come as a surprise for many while others may claim that they expected something similar. This thread is specially made to get the initial reaction of xBhpians about the disaster and resurrection. So speak your mind out about what you feel specially when xBhp was not around for more than a month. We all would love to hear the feelings that xBhpians had gone through in the past one month and what they feel about the new xBhp.

Also remember that we are going to do something very grand. So get ready for that.

    Back from the Dead

We take pride in ourselves because we know that companies all over India look up xBhp for free quality research. Some copy valuable inputs and content to help achieve their sales targets while even refusing to acknowledge the source of that information, what of thanking us for it.. Publications across India also routinely visited xBhp, both to take cues on how to plan their next step and also to try and squash us out of existence with corporate might and financial power. It is indeed sad to see the politics seeping into all levels of biking in India. This sacrosant lifestyle for many is being tainted.

After the ghastly incident on August 21st, xBhp was effectively no more. All data had been corrupted and nothing could be recovered even after sending it to one of the best recovery companies in the world. As fate would have it, even the local database backup was found corrupted on testing and could not be salvaged. Five years of hard work and memories were gone in a flash. Whoever was responsible for this almost succeeded, I was about to shut down xBhp as things looked impossible now.

    Yet xBhp remains.
climbed towards Dhanoulti with six other riders, who did not have any inkling of the savage turmoil that had engulfed me and xBhp. That trip saved my faith coupled with the thousands of memories stored on my local hard disk as photos and videos. I thought that this was too big and important for not only me, but thousands of other people who have been involved with xBhp in the last five years. How could I let it go just like that? This was August 23rd. The recovery company finally informed me on the 11th of September that the data has been lost permanently. Until then I had hope.
It has been ten days since the finality of the irrecoverability of the database had been conveyed to me. And in those ten days, we have recreated all of xBhp from scratch, a new design, a brand new beginning. The database is till mid-2005, with some newer content which has been added in the past few days.

A lot more content would be added gradually but it is upto all of you to get involved and take xBhp to new heights.
It was a surreal experience for me. It felt like someone had died in the family and then miraculously been resurrected. In the last one month, I have learnt more about life than I could imbibe in the last five years. It has also let me know who friends of xBhp are and who care. This is always a priceless insight and comes through only in the times of trouble.
And to make up for the disaster...
What has happened was supposed to happen. I firmly believe in looking ahead and being positive. To make up to everyone attached with xBhp we will be doing something pan India very soon. Expect the details to be out on xBhp in the next ten days. Lookibg forward to a huge reunion - online and offline, hopefully in a way never seen before.

    Signing Off,
    Sunny, Head Convener, xBhp

I guess I am one of the first to be responding. The replies of the woes of people will certainly come in. The initial frustration of the bikers who used to visit and who then started going elsewhere to check other sites and probably not finding enough warmth, trying again... the withdrawal symptoms of an addiction, biking with xBhp, this addiction which had gradually grown into me as well since I joined in 2005... and when I learned of the crash I felt my heart sinking. Initially I could not believe that it had actually happened. That it was probably some prank that Sunny was playing on me. He keeps doing these things. And then I realised the depth of the disaster. It made feel almost homeless for a while. Then I started looking for the data or anything that I could find to infuse life back into xBhp in whichever little manner I could contribute to make it come alive again.

Today I am glad to see xBhp coming up again. The front page conveys pretty much what I personally felt when the site had gone blank from my screen. And now that screen has come alive yet again with a LOT more spunk and enthusiasm. You know Sunny where I am, a stone's throw away... you know where to look if you need anything, anything at all, and I will see what I can do.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

          First up,

It's good to be back. There, "" <--- missed this guy.

Seriously speaking though, I am so glad that there was a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. When Sunny initially contacted me, things looked really dire. Getting things back into this shape this fast is quite an achivement and my respect goes to Sunny, MG and everyone else who worked their rear ends off these past few days.

As a side effect, All my posts have vanished into thin air. Oh well...

As for the "New look", somethings I knew about, some I didn't. Seems like there are pleasant surprises around the corner and that's always a good thing.

          Go xBhp~!!!!

            1. On 21st August, i wondered if it is a server transfer, why Mods didn't tell us earlier. Anyway, it said to be back on 7th September. Slight depression. Switch off.

<kept visiting in between in a hope that there may be other notifications. Wondered why Bikeindia is silent over this>

            2. Around 7th Sept, got the message that it will be back on 22nd Sep. A little bit of anger and helplessness grew, but anyway shot a mail to one of mod and sat back.

<The sense of missing something close was hitting regularly and i was questioning what all other hyderabadi xBHPians will be doing. Anyway shot an email to one of mod just to wish success for server transfer>

            3. Saw the documentary trailer and felt good that you people are around. By that time, i had calculated that it ll be a Monday.

            4. Come today Morning, Obviously first thing i hit was the xBHP url, no luck. I wondered why it is not there. At 5, i typed again and a wave of happiness surged within.

Got a shock that xBHP is hacked and read the brief of trauma Sunny and all had gone through. BRAVO! Guyz, you all have taken the step in right direction, thus not only saving xBHP but set an example to move further with all courage and hope no matter how worst the situation is.

Together we will build again a Stronger and Progressive XBHP by the inspiration of immortal biking spirit.

            - a biker.

@pundrick-Bike India and xBhp are two separate entities so no wonder that you didn't get any notification.

Obviously the loss of data(Threads) is huge but hopefully with the help of fellow xBhpians we will be able to generate half of the data in months to come .Meanwhile there are some fresh new additions in xBhp.We hope that you guys will enjoy it.

Yes it was really tough time spending over an month without XBHP, I felt like something was missing from my life and i am really very happy that XBHP is back.

Even though we lost data but the memories of 5 yrs of biking would always remain in our heart.

The New XBHP looks fantastic. The hard torque looks very nice.

P.S: I am happy that my account was still alive, though my account password got lost.
