Its hard specially when you are not there

Sitting here, I was thinking it is just and upgrade and xbhp is shifting to a new server. I was still checking it almost everyday just in case. Had no idea it was that serious.

My only contact with people was through PM's and now wish had emailed some of you, specially sunny if I knew it was that serious.

However it is good to see it is back. So start posting guys and revive the old memories.
Whoever tried doing it, is not achieving anything other than bringing the community together.

If anyone left and are not coming back, they were not the part of 'real' community. Lets not worry about them. This will show who real supporters of the community are.

So go on guys, lets see those trip logs, pictures, jokes, start poking fun at each other....

Well yes that was really my first reaction..

Its really tragic that all of data is lost...I myself work with a dot com and damn I know content is really the king and it takes real pain and blood to generate good content..

XBHP was definitely one of the better forums in the country...I am sure it still is and guys lets get populate the forums again...

I am sure we will be back on track again in some time...

the event is indeed devastating. and more than us its the Indian biking industry that will feel the shockwave because we all knew how big and "genuine" source xBhp was. But its a pause for a moment. xBhp has always been and once again will become the only most biggest biking portal in India, period.

Special thanks to sunny and xBhp team from my side. Without their hearts and minds, we wouldn't know what biking is for us.

IT's really sad to hear that all the data has been lost.... But not to worry Coz i believe all the XBHPians have OIL in their viens rather than blood

so i think people might be thinking of doing the trips again just to make up for the lost logs...

I am just happy that Xbhp is back and running. Been close to this site for a long time now and when something like that happens, its almost like losing the internet cuz anyways, here is where i am, most of the time

It might take time, but Xbhp will reach the stage it was once was very soon for sure and surpass it, because we have dedicated guys like Sunny and his team.

i couldn't access the net since the 18th of august as i was busy shifting to my new house....

with the net up and running around 1st of sept, i found that i couldn't access the site...the documentary page was soon replaced by the "xbhp will be back soon" and dumb old me thought that it was going to be another update... so it was indeed a shocker when i got to read sunny's message today...

well we do have the blueprint with us, the spirit, and the brotherhood so its only going to be a matter of time that xbhp reaches its original state in terms of content...

If sunny could answer a few questions:
The forum had 20k+ members plus hundreds of new postings per week. After receiving aid from castrol, did they not feel they had to approach the board in a little more professional manner?(speaking as a castrol shareholder, you were featured in their annual report.)
Did you not feel the need to make weekly (monthly? quarterly? Or twice a year?) backups and test them occasionally?
Were you making backups manually?
One can imagine losing data for a month or maybe in some circumstances, 6 months of data, but 3.5 years?
If you be a bit forthright with the technical stuff, it would be better. You owe it to the xbhp members who have put in their time on this board.

You could resurrect some postings like this one from google's cache.

and the best that we can still be together. Still remember the time when we were asking for money to upgrade the server, asking for help that was the time and today is the time even though whatever happened will give the level best to support........
