  • we are back to life..

I am a silent reader of XBHP.

My first thought was that the site is being upgraded.

but after going through the sunny's first page narration i was shocked.

one point i would like say here.

XBHP is not a mere any other forum.

it makes my day , it does to a lot of people.

what ever is the disaster please dont ever think of closing XBHP. i was little

shocked to see this thought in sunny's write-up. May be its because of what

he was going through to recover the data and to make things normal.

IT WAS NEVER ABOUT THE DATA. ITs THE SPIRIT OF XBHP THAT IS WITHIN

    US.WE ALL ARE WITH YOU!

WE ARE XBHPIANS! WE ARE BIKERS FROM CORE OF OUR SOULS! WE NEVER

    GIVEUP !!

KUDOS TO Sunny and his Team who reconstructed the XBHP.

GO XBHP GO!! WE ALL ARE WITH YOU!

Hopefully this is just the beginning something which is meant to be much bigger and better in all aspects.
@Sunny: Someone wise once said "if life could be played back and mistakes erased, we would end up with a life so perfect. Fortunately, life never allows us to erase and hence we strive for perfection...the ever tireless pursuit of unattainable perfection is what gives meaning to our lives". I feel that this is an opportunity for us to learn and be perfect in what we do and the way we do it.
I, as a member of the xBhp family am extremely happy to see my family back and needless to say...the credit goes to you and all the members who have patiently waited for this moment!!! Thanks!

              It’s Good To Be Back!

"Too much time away, I'm back to stay
              But I ain't settlin' down
              Tonight we'll burn it down
Let's tear the roof off of this place
              Tell everyone you know
They'll see a lot more of my face

              It's good to be here
              Long time no see dear
But I had to give it a go
Took the show on the road
Doin' it everybody's way but my own
              Good to be home
              Been gone away to long
Stickin' to my guns, makin' a good run
              Takin' the right track
Hey y'all, it's good to be back

              Welcome everyone
I've just begun the second half of the show
The nitty-gritty of the city wasn't pretty
But it taught me some things I didn't know
I swear that i'm not through
To much to do before the end
And the best place to get started
Is right here with all my friends" -lyrics:Cagle Chris

*Thanks to Sunny and the rest of the gang for having me back for a Ride call..

                • Yup its back and its back with a Bang. Personally i really felt bad and sad when i came to know about the data loss and stuff. One month without xBhp was like bad phase, felt as if i had no connection with the internet. xBhp is the only website i browse multiple times a day. And when i heared about the launch of new xbhp on 22nd i was eagerly waiting for the big day. Congrats to Sunny and the whole team for getting xBhp back into Action.

I really felt bad when i came to know abt the hack but glad its back. I always consider Xbhp is the knowledge management repository for Indian biking. My initial reaction i am happy BUT i am just thinking the possibilities why it has happened.

                    1. Whats the necessity to get hacked being a premier site? This is only site which is exhaustive Questions and solutions. why should one hack that
                    2. I am not a detective or from cyber crime. The buying decisions is mainly influenced on this website threads and post. why not the possibility that automobile company hijack and try to erase their CONS and short comings.(I am just telling the possibility)
                    3. Its high time to have a Disaster recovery setup. Its happened in 2005 now in 2008 and why not later?
whatever we have lost is lost we cant replicate the invaluable knowledge resource in the database.

We are there to support xbhp and bring back its glory.

                    Cheers,
                    Vijay

                    • Initially when I found the site down I thought this was something routine like changing to a larger server or something due to the growing number of members and posts.

I was shocked to read the real reason yesterday when I heard xBhp was up and running again. What a sheer waste of the efforts of so many people over the years.

Its like watching the house you built lovingly with your own hands being vandalised and torn down brick by brick, and there is a hollow sickening feeling of hopelessness and helplessness in the pit of your stomach because there is nothing you can do about it.

Really glad to see that Sunny has managed to get things up and moving again. It is better to see a limping xBhp than no xBhp at all, and for that he and his team deserve all the kudos.

But I am surprised that how such a very tech savvy website could have been hacked in the first place. It must be really difficult to do and whoever did such a thing must be really good in a twisted sort of way. Wish he could have used his talents more constuctively though.

And what is really surprising is that there were no backups etc. of the data in place. I hope we learn a bitter lesson from this and take suitable and frequent backups of everything from now on going forward.

Sunny, if you want, I can email you the popular write-up of mine regarding the running-in secrets of the Pulsar. Will dig it up from somewhere hopefully.

                      Cheers, Doc

                          • Seriously Sunny bhai and all who worked on getting the site back up, you cant imagine how relieved i am to be see the website up and running. I so belong here, i might have not be posting regularly but this is where i stayed. Felt so out of place on other forums man. No offence to any other club but this is where my homepage is
Cheers to Biking and Three Cheers to XBHP

                            • The joy of seeing xbhp alive again soon turned into shock and sorrow when i read about the data loss. Seriously, that data wasn't just bits and bytes in this cyberspace, but there were so many emotions attached to them. The announcement of G2Gs, planning, and then the comments by new and old members; you could smell the excitement in the words whenever a newbie saw a superbike for the first time in his life; the sense of satisfaction in the posts by senior remembers after they attended a G2G after a tiring week. Ah those trip planning threads!!! how can i forget the Leh preparation thread where we shared almost every second of our life, telling each other what we did the whole day for the ride of our lifetime; those karol bagh visits, pre-trip meets, members wishing to join, those last minute cancellations.....ah! and that legendary "Which Cloth (kaun sa kapda)" :P thread or that xbhp Rap thread by Thugg Inc. ...The list is long, very long.

Those pages might not be there on the servers but the memories of good times and the smiles that xbhp bought on our faces will remain forever, far away from any data loss.

and as they say, we are all part of this cycle of life and death, but the show must go on.

congrats everyone who made the resurrection possible. I am sure, the new xbhp will be much better than the old one. This might take some time, but then who's in a hurry.

Couldn't express my feelings better than this.
