I had previously Transcend 800 Mhz and I had put it on Intel D945G which supports only up to 667 Mhz. In BIOS and it only recognized the 667 Mhz. I ran this config for 2 months with no problems at all. (Then I upgraded to Asus P5Q Pro and G.skill 4Gb= 2x2)
@andy: what is ur budget for gfx card ??

This might be true theoretically, but practically you can never say. This was not the issue when I did the same thing. I had asked my 1 Gb RAM to be replaced with a 2 GB one. Transcend was the brand that I asked them to put. Since I was not present at the time of replacing at the computer service center, I casually took the PC home. To find out at boot, the computer did not recognise the RAM chips at all.
Later I found out that the repair person had used the 800 Mhz chip. My motherboard (old) was compatible till 667 Mhz chips. Swapped it with the lesser frequency RAMs and they worked.

    Well i have two queries,

    1. I have 1gb ddr2 ram in my pc, and i am planning to put one more 2gb ddr2.

the question here is will it be ok if i put higher frequency 2gb ddr2 ram with the existing one. I mean there should be no compatibility issue right.

Also if you guys can share prices and the correct ram for my pc,

    A 2GB corsair RAM costs about Rs1650

^^@Andy: Write in the details of your PC for now. Motherboard, Processor....it will help others suggest and recommend you.

Frequency of RAM depends on the motherboard you have. The older ones do not support the newer 800 Mhz RAM chips.

When a newbie can ask a motorcycle modification related query in a Computer Gaming thread, then I don't think you should act like a newbie andy!

This is what this thread is here for - queries, solutions, etc. related to PC.

    Specs are
    Screen Size 55.9cm (22)
    Resolution 1920 x 1080
    Contrast Ratio DC 15,000:1 (1,000:1)

Can u put up a photo of the blister pack if possible, so that we can see what it looks like ??

Also send them to the kingston Customer care or any higher kingston authority to notify of the same.
(who knows, they might give u a original replacement or atleast do something to put such things in check)
