    @vijaycool,
    Get hold of Powerstrip!

    @anvancy,
    Auzentech Prelude and M-Audio Revolution series are awesome sound chips. Typically meant for audiophiles. As for Creative X-Fi Extreme Music, nothing that particular about it. In fact Extreme Gamer is the real deal after "Fatality" series!

    just look at the marketing strategy of creative.

    i am only talking of sound cards here.there gigaworks speakers rock.

    they market DTS AND DOLBY DIGITAL ready.above it a small star saying through CYBERLINK POWERDVD.
    now without that also i can enjoy DTS on my comp.

    that auzentech prelude unlocks the actual XFI power and also adds to it DOLBY DIGITAL LIVE and DTS INTERACTIVE.now thats what i call sound techs.

    and again..those having sound blasters audigys and XFIs here will come bashing at me telling me that what i talk is crap.but a simple search on reality of creative cards on google will tell the other side of the coin.

    example..the xtreme audio card under XFI is actually an audigy card only.only sticker change.just like hero honda.only the XFI music was up to the mark.
    +1lakh.
    That's why I am pestering my Big bro to get me a Auzentech Prelude from the UK.

    i woulda invested in a soundcard if i was gonna use speakers that would actually reap benefit of that. However, here in Japan one cannot be too loud, especially in the hostel where the Warden will come running

    I will be using a very simple 2.1 setup - maybe even headphone only for gaming, and thus do not feel the need for a soundcard now. Am not too much of an audiophile anyway.

    A few hours of hooked up lappies to a mini hub with multiplayer games has awoken the demon that was sleeping inside of me. I am now looking forward to build a gaming rig for me here.

    Most of it is decided, and so I will run the system along with ya people for any final thoughts ya might wanna put into my head.

    Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R Mobo
    E7300 or E8400 Core 2 Duo (8400 takes it over budget, so 99.99% E7300)
    4GB DDR2-800
    Ati 4850 or 4870 (4870 takes it way over budget, so unless i find a much cheaper store, it is the 4850)
    24 incher 1920.1200 monitor
    500G HDD, DVD RW
    Antec 300 Cabinet
    Scythe Ninja CPU Cooler
    Scythe Gouriki 500W Power Supply

    Building here in Japan is a significant bit costlier than say in the US, where the prices are the best, but then again it is quite cheap compared to India, and for once I can actually get the components that I want inside of that case.

    Will keep ya posted with the build and the benchies.

    PS: As for games running on 64bit, I suppose most newer games should run w/o any problems on either XP or Vista 64 bit.. Frankly, it is better to get a vista 64 bit and a xp 32 bit.. The 64bit vista would run most software and for the few games and other high performance stuff that would not run on 64 bit vista, dual boot to a 32 bit xp partition..
    Thats my machine!!! And you've got alot of things wrong!

    CPU - 2 X Xeon 2.5ghz, @ 1333mhz fsb 12 mb L2 cache
    Motherboard - Tyan s5397 with 16 Ram slots supporting upto 128gb of Ram!!!

    It's a server/workstation board, and it runs some hardcore audio production apps. And games

    Fallout 3 runs beautifully on this system! I loves my computer!
