Is XBHP infected ?

When I am browsing just xbhp (no other site is open)
New tabs are opening automatically, every few seconds with a survey ! Seriously annoying.

If you have this problem in firefox, remove all ad-one bloatware and install adblock. If you have issues in Chrome, go to Settings, Extensions and you will see bloatware installed there, uninstall them then and there, you're all set.

If you still have ads, go to control panel and check the list for uncanny applications and uninstall.

I use a 32" screen for my Desktop, and I sit a little away from the screen to negate the glaring affect of the big screen. I generally use the zoom feature to magnify the browser for effective and comfortable readability. All other forums, when I zoom them, wrap up the text and resize automatically to fit into the frame. xBhp is the only forum or website that won't respond to this feature. It won't allow text wrapping and adjustment. If I zoom the xBhp site, I have to use scrolling right and left to read, and its really painful. I sincerely request the mods to look into this and make necessary changes so that members like me could use the site comfortably.

It's due to crapware/adware/virus installed on your computer. It resides inside your browser, taps the pages before displaying them and inserts adverts.
If you're sure no adware was installed during one of the software you installed recently then the intermediate router/server is inserting adverts.

Most of the websites have dynamic width that means width of the page is adjusted at client display. xbhp used to be like most of the displays but since iffort, many things have changed. The width is fixed now.

But I think I can help you with your problem.
Inside chrome
1. open the xbhp page that you want to read.
2.


right click on the thin dark gray stripe you see on the left or right side of the page as shown in the image. Go to Inspect element.

3.

Inspection window will open at the bottom. As shown in the image 'body wrapper' from left column is selected already, if it isn't then select it. On right hand side move your mouse cursor over attribute "width: 1230px;" and turn it off by unchecking it.

That's it. It's a temporary solution which will work till you keep that page open.

4. Just for the convenience keep that inspection window squeezed down till you can see that ^ width attribute. Once you open new page, uncheck it again.

Let me know if it works or not.
BTW, This trick is for everyone who has issues viewing current layout. You can love firefox in similar way.
Permanent solution is actually simpler, Mods could fix this if they delete line number 1322 from the css file. That's all it takes.

also YOU CANNOT DELETE POSTS via the xbhp connect android app.

Yup... some features dont work on xBhp app on iPhone too... Using a third party app like tapatalk helps...

when we click on the moved thread then it opens the first page of the thread which a new thread is moved this way it is very difficult to know which page is it on currently
e.g. the threads which is circled in the image

is now moved to the ownership thread. And when one clicks on this it redirects to the first page of the ownership thread making it difficult to go to the post itself.
Is there a way to make it possible to redirect to the post itself??

Thanks for the info. But, I want the easy solution and don't want to adjust for each and every page . Don't know if anyone from the site maintenance team reading these. When most of the forums offer the dynamic width adjustment, why not xBhp?

Our beloved xbhp and what we couldn't do for it. Ha?

It's been a year since we have adopted new xflow theme. The best thing about this theme is that it's going beyond just the forum and touching each and every elements of this site. With this change, some folks were uncomfortable with fixed width of the forum. Many of those are using either Full HD monitors or old 15'' monitors. Also some had issue with low contrast. So you folks asked and I'm delivering.

I have been working on xbhp styling on my end for some time. I have been able to change how xbhp looks on the user's end. These are some small changes I have made to the original theme. With this the width is dynamic, whatever monitor you have got you will be able to see xbhp in full glory. Additionally I've fixed some rough corners in blogs and profiles. Most of the changes are nothing but fixes. In deep xbhp forum you'll find some elements are either broken or remained unchanged from very old theme, so these fixes are just for that. Also I upped the ante on contrast. Few changes are for aesthetic too.

Please note: I'm touching only style part of the xbhp on the user end (not at server end, impossible as I'm not an admin). By style I mean font size, colors etc. It definitely doesn't not involve changing how xbhp behaves(can't change that anyway) not on user's end or server's end.

Once I'm done, the project will be open source and freely available to anyone who wants it. Those who want to opt in, simply need to install a plugin and that's it. Do note that this is only for those who wants it. It doesn't have anything to do with xbhp server and so modifications are available for only those who have installed that plugin. Consider it like changing the skin of media player which doesn't affect how the player is running. This is simply nothing but some fan made changes (unofficial) and not a make over.

I need some beta testers. Anyone using xbhp on computers and interested can PM me. Beta tester doesn't need to be technical at all. All I want from beta testers are humble suggestions. Xbhp is huge and so I might forget looking into some stuff, this where I need you to point me. Right now the project is in 400 lines. I'm expecting final version will be double. I'm testing this 3 different monitors who are different in types, sizes and resolution.

I'll post final version of this project for public once the beta is over. (A few days max).

Not sure if someone has given this advice before or not,didn't had any time to go through the thread.

Since, many folks post there queries about the problems they face in there bikes, Sometimes it becomes difficult to describe the unknown sounds heard from the machine so there should be an option to post the sound clip like we have an option for posting images.
