Re: The new xBhp: Suggestions and Improvements Thread

One small plea from my side. The Xbhp tapatalk app version 2.0 isn't detecting xbhp. But their property app is Xbhp connect works fine. But not getting detected in the paid one.

I recently formatted my mobile, installed all apps and then tapatalk shows all other forums including even local ones but not this one.

Any pointers or if the issue can be rectified it'd be so helpful

    Cheers!

    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

      Hi VJ,

      That is bit strange.

      Hi Praful,

Once you minimize the alert, it will stay minimized unless there is a new announcement made on xBhp.

You can make it visible again by clicking on the Alert icon (Yellow board).

      Thanks,

The Yellow alert once minimized stays minimized. It does not open again until you sign in again or click on it.
Nope, it doesn't happen that way

              Hi Praful/Phanikar,

You cannot minimize the diamond-shaped yellow box on the bottom right. However, when you log-in first or there's a new alert, the yellow diamond box give way to a rectangular black box containing the alert text and link. Once minimize it should not pop up automatically until there's a new alert from our side.

So help me understand, do you see yellow diamond box all the time or the black box?

Re: Welcome to Forum Announcements & Feedback - A new forum subsection

                sounds good.
loads of scope for improvement i guess...
                - the PM feature is pretty shoddy - doesnt stick to certain options chosen / auto-save the sent msgs in the sentbox unless explicitly selected while sending, etc.
                - will be neat to have a list of all threads that were responded to, since any particular users last comment / post on that thread [my posts & updates to my participated posts, etc.]
                - the forum load timing on a pc is very slow [it works pretty quick on tappatalk on android & iphone though]
                - the session timeout, in case the 'remember me' [drop a cookie on my pc] option is not selected, is too less
                - the color scheme can be more eye-friendly [especially since the current scheme tends to make clickable url's invisible / grayed-out, etc.]
then there is a whole lot of bugs on the xbhp connect app for android... but that, i guess, needs a separate discussion?

I think this feature is already there. When you reply to a thread you are automatically subscribed to that thread and you can see the subscribed threads alone If you select it from the menu

Re: The new xBhp: Suggestions and Improvements Thread

                        Hi Guys,

Most of you guys might have already noticed "mentioned" & "tagged" written under your user names when you make a post. Also some of you might have received emails from xBhp telling you that another user has mentioned you or quoted you in a thread.

We have incorporated this new feature on xBhp where you can now tag another xBhpian by just adding '@' symbal before his username while making a post on xBhp, just like you do on facebook/twitter, and an instant notification will be sent to the user mentioned by you.

for example just write @USER or @xYZ and an email will be sent instantaneously to that particular user.

Same thing will happen whenever somebody quotes your post.

You can see a list of all the 'mentions' and tags on your profile page under the tabs "mentions' & "tags."

We hope that this feature will help you always stay connected to whats going on on xBhp and also if your attention is required on any particular thread or topic.

We would also like to mention that this feature right now is in beta phase & we are studying its impact on the overall functioning of the site, so you might see some changes related to this feature shortly after some time.

Let us know what you think of it.

                        please discuss it here :

@ sunilg : the xbhp connect on android had an update last night.
i downloaded the update & installed it on my jellybean o/s android handset [galaxy note]
was surprised to see the xbhp connect icon just acting as a jumpstart for a tapatalk app.
tapatalk app on jellybean always had had issues & now, no matter howmany times i provide my xbhp login / password it just doesnt stick.
as a result, i cannot use either the xbhp connect app or the tapatalk app to access the forum as it doesnt allow me to login @ all :-(

I got a mail from one junior member recently stating that he had this peculiar issue with xBhp.

                              This is what it read.

How do you quote individual lines as opposed to quoting the entire paragraph and deleting the unwanted?

I told him, you quote the entire para, delete the ones you want and just leave the one line you want or would like to keep as the basis for your quote, and you cannot just quote just the line alone.

                              His example as

"If johnny had a cat and that cat drank lots of milk per day"

His argument was, how can I quote "If jonny had a cat" alone just by highlighting that particular text and use quote automatically instead of quoting, then deleting the unwanted.

I adviced there isn't any option to my knowledge in xBhp and he humbly requested me to post on his behalf, and so I did.

I think this can be a welcome addition too, not too bad a suggestion.

                              Thanks!

                              Cheers!

As a programmer point of view its nearly impossible...server cannot know what the end user wants to quote until it gets a response from user...
If quoting is made in such a way that we first have to select the matter and then quote then it will be even more difficult for most of the users here so its easy to quote all and then delete the unnecessary...
