• Re: xBhp Connect App for Android taken down ?

Facing the post duplication issue once again(duplicate consecutive posts getting automerged) ! Even on a new post many times an error pops up saying you have just made a similar post in the last 5 minutes. When cancelled, the post is visible on the thread.

This is happening a lot after the overhaul

Photos uploaded from the mobile app appear very low on resolution, but no issues while uploading from the website

Stange issue from last 2 days.

Lets say i am subscriber to a thread, instant notification by email is activated too.
And if someone quotes me, i get the email notifying me about the quote, but then on, no instant mail notification are followed up for that thread. So what happens is that i do not get mail notifications form that thread from then on.

sunilg, doc posts are again duplicated. This kinda works intermittently, on some offline threads it almost works fine but on ownership threads the posts are being duplicated. Any solutions?

Cheers!

• Re: The new xBhp: Suggestions and Improvements Thread

Dear xBhp Moderators,

Posting after a long time : (the reason? please see below)

I joined xbhp around 6-7 years ago, at that time I was a noob with no knowledge whatsoever about bikes. Immediately, got addicted to the forum ofcourse due to the biker inside me got similar mind heads. And it was a severe addiction! The 2nd reason being the quality of posts on bikes and related things.

Now, coming to the point; What I have felt in the past years is there have been a lot of dudes and bros who have also joined, there is nothing bad in that. But, the quality of posts has been inversely affected. There is no strict protocol being followed by members here, in most of posts on the 200ns thread I have read there are dudes/bro's ...... c'mon guys there has to be a etiquette for posting/calling fellow rider. Every second member seems to be thinking that the other one is a idiot talking.

xBhp has been a quality oriented forum right from the days I joined it, there were useful posts, but now the quality has been severely affected and the only improvement I saw in these years was only in the GUI of website. It seems that every passer by on this website is joining now and this severely affects the interest of true enthusiasts, as the quality of posts degrades. I have been bitten by this so called dudes due to the lack of gesture, DUDE/RUDE attitudes and manners in which they post. Hence, I kept getting away and away and now I am rusted (the topline on my avatar proves it!).

Calling all the mods! please put a filter in the member joining process. I don't know if it has already been but if it has been then the filter needs to get more fine. The moderation needs a strict and immediate overhaul.

Thanks & regards,
Abhi.

Part and parcel of a growing portal, but it should be maintained better, while the mods are doing a commendable job, they are just not able to keep up i guess.
As to the dudes and bros joining, nothing much that can be done, the way i see it, they last for a few days, their participation that is, we have been here for years now continuesly contributing, let us try and keep up the quality in the ways that we can.

Cheers

I would not name them but there are other forums of which I am member, they have put strict rules through which every new member has to pass through. And this has resulted in ensuring the quality of forum through out these years. We need to correct the things otherwise there will be no difference left between apples and oranges, this might turnout to be just another forum as plenty on the net with garbage content.

@abhichotu.abhi : Totally with you on your point. But the same thing have been asked by me few years by back and no one paid any heed to it. To be honest mods have given more emphasis on magazine and tours and forum took a back seat. New mods are doing good, but they can do whatever they have been asked to, they cant go beyond their "limits" to add a little bit of more moderation

I disagree with stricter rulers. A pestering newbie today might join along down the line as a guide to help out.

Create pseudo-moderators(activities observed), at least a dozen of them. Who'll pick their favourite old threads and clean them. Or even collate the posts properly into a single article for future references.

Very tight rules can in-turn reduce the number of users turning up, but in some cases it is good, in most ownership thread you see people who come post exactly 1 post and they vanish into thin air, and the questions they post are redundant an unnecessary, see the thing is even if a newbie asks such things, many people are taking the effort to tell them the forum rules and we also happily answer their questions, but in some cases these people who help them or guide them itself is sneered upon by these guys, that makes the helpful people to also turn away, so being too strict isn't good, but then the current level of leniency is also a bit too much in interest of forum cleanliness and information content.

Increasing moderator count is a good approach, but moderators should be chosen wisely, giving the right to cleaning up should be given to those who can choose wisely , and see beyond their own ego or bias and keep things neutral.

Cheers
